Question about Sony Televison & Video
I have a 40'' Sony FullHD LCD TV and recently got a Sony HT-DDWG800 component hometheater system. The home theatre is connected to the TV via HDMI to HDMI input 1. A satellite decoder is connected to the theatre using SAT but only the RCU inputs and the coaxial for audio for DVD is assigned to SAT as this more superior sound than the optical input. Monitor out from Receiver also goes to the LCD video1 input.
When I enable Bravia Sync on both LCD and Receiver, power off on TV/Reciever switches off the other. Now when I select Video1 on TV to view Satellite decoder (www.dstv.com) Reciever switches to TV input! When I select SAT on Receiver, TV input selected is HDMI1. My satellite decoder is not HD as this model not launched yet. How do I make the Receiver switch to Video1 when I accept Video1 on the TV? When TV channel is selected the Reciever switches to TV which is fine. When I select Video1 I want to be able to watch Video1 input on Reciever. I have no problem with the LG DVD player connected to DVD input via HDMI as this automatically puts TV to HDMI1.
Why does the Receiver select TV when I set TV to Video1? Why does the Receiver on SAT put TV on HDMI when there is no HDMI connected on SAT?

OK try to connect all to tv and from tv connect the sound in digital to H/K receiver and you will have sound at the receiver no matter what.

You must take your unit in for servicing for intermittent control switching ic problems. You may just have some bad solder joints that appear after periods of use. You may also have failing solid state components like the switching ic or supporting components. It is best to have the unit tested and repaired in a service center where they have all the service infromation. You can call insignia customer support at 1-877-467-4289 You can also check the Insignia website for customer support at www.insignia-products.com. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

if your old tv was an analog one you need a digital converter box to change to the new signal.. new tvs wont recognize the analog signal..temporarily you may be able to use your laptops' dics player as a player for your discs..
