Question about Apple iPod mini 2nd generation MP3 Player

1 Answer

IPod mini 2ndGen (4GB) won't shuffle song playlists completely

I have an Apple iPod mini 2nd Generation Blue (4 GB) and I usually dock it in a speaker system. I default to shuffle and repeat.

My problem comes when I try to shuffle a playlist (or any other formatted list - artists, songs, albums, etc.) the second day in a row. (After turning the speaker system off, then back on). After a while, the ipod just shuffles a section of the playlist and doesn't cycle through the entire playlist to play the remaining songs. It is NOT set up to repeat the songs that are more often played. I do restart the ipod, but that only corrects it for the next run. Any idea how to correct this?

Why can't i view my songs on my ipod?

Hi Cynthia
You have done well keeping this iPod working this long as this device is now Obsolete. Hopefully you have a backup of all your music. This is one of the older iPods that use an internal Hard Drive. This is usually the part that goes first as they are spinning while in use. More modern devices use Semiconductor Storage like a USB memory stick.
Have you tried holding down the reset keys to completely restart the iPod.
Reset
Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again)
Press and hold the Menu and Centre (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Ipod shuffle (2nd gen) completely dead

you are still under warranty...take it to the sony apple store...they will fix it /replace it or tell you there is cost if it not the battery (note do not tell them you charged overnight, and for the future do chage any gadgets more than 3-4 hrs) when you do charge over night you are actually shorten the battery life span or overcharge....so as soon as you come home from school, work, whatever cell/ipod or any other device needs to be charge...charge it now and unplug before you go to bed....

Ipod nano blinks

I bought an Ipod shuffle 2nd generation yesterday, it charged all night and orange light was still blinking. Tried listening to songs and sometimes it would play but most times wouldn't. Took it back for exchange and same problem. Then I realized the problem is not with the USB plug or computer reoconizing ipod but in the docking itself. I applied pressure on the top side of docked Ipod and bottom of docking station and the computer recognized the Ipod. Release pressure and lose connection. The problem is that the docking station and earbuds do not connect with ipod and the fixes provided by apple doesn't address or fix this problem.

Ipod Nano Second Generation

Try resetting the ipod, this usually works. As follows: How to reset iPod To reset an iPod with a Click Wheel, including: iPod nano (3rd generation) iPod classic iPod (5th generation) iPod nano (2nd generation) iPod nano iPod with color display (iPod photo) iPod (Click Wheel) iPod mini iPod mini (2nd generation) Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center. If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. To reset iPod, iPod (scroll wheel), iPod (touch wheel), and iPod (dock connector) Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons simultaneously until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step. If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. If you are still unable to reset your iPod, use only one finger from one hand to press the Center (Select) button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Menu button. When you reset iPod all your music and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost. Date and time is preserved (unless the iPod reset itself because it had no power and then was reconnected to power). Other customized settings, such as Bookmarks, On-The-Go Playlists, Shuffle, Backlight timer, and so forth are preserved from the last time the hard drive turned on. Good luck, and I hope this helps.
