I have taken my acer aspire apart to clean the fan,, when I put it bk together the screen does not come on,,any idea on what to do ?

Can you be more spacific? Did you pull it fully apart eg, the whole case. If so make sure the ribbon or conectors are connected back to the board, even the slightests bit off can cause it to not work.

Replaced inverter still black screen

That unfortuneately leaves the backlight, hidden behind the LCD display, most technicians end up replacing the LCD screen because it has the built in back light, you can get the part but it is a very difficult repair and this requires taking apart the screen to even access it and soldering skills.

Ls developed vertical coloured lines which cover half the screen, I have attached an external monitor which works perfectly any ideas how the laptop screen can be repaired

I would checkout ebay for a replacemet screen and just change it. If you get a screen and then get lost, post another question and we can help you take the laptop apart and put it back together.
See www.insidemylaptop.com there may even be your model laptop having a screen replaced. They are all fairly similar to work on.
Hope that helps.

Possible loose connection on the LCD cable. The connector is behind the LCD panel. There's a tutorial on how to take apart a LCD panel on http://www.bootmylaptop.com

D620 will power up. The lights come on, I can hear the cd Tom spin. But no hd light and no screen display. Plugging into a remote monitor also shows nothing. My first thoughts at hd or main board. Any...

Start taking your laptop apart piece by piece and test it after each removed component:
1. Remove the hard drive and test the laptop.
2. Remove the DVD drive and test the laptop.
3. Remove the wireless card and test the laptop.
4. Unplug the display panel from the motherboard/video card and test the laptop.
etc....
Continue taking it apart until you have only three major components connected: motherboard (with video card), processor, and memory. If you still experience the same problem, most likely it's bad motherboard.
By the way, before you start, try reconnecting the memory module. If you have two modules installed, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each one separately.

The hinges on the right side of my laptop monitor appear to be stuck. I cannot close the monitor or the monitor begins to come apart at the seams.

if you have no idea how to disassemble it then search website to find one very close to your laptop type. you should be in earlier steps (usually after the KB taken out) to take apart screen and then you can examine any damage or not. if something broken then you need to buy the part to replace. Otherwise after you put back it should fix the problem.

Aspire 5100 laptop White line appear across screen. when you adjust the screen or bend it slightly they will disappear. took apart screen and there are no loose connections. Any ideas?

It's usually the lcd cable. It has a short so when you move the screen back and forth you're "fixing" it.

Best thing to do is just look up the part number on the lcd wire and buy a replacement one on ebay. If that doesn't fix the problem it's the lcd, but based on what you've described all signs point to lcd cable.
