Memory loss and inability to channel scan Olevia H537
Sometimes will not allow me to access channel scan, it is set for home. sometimes it will go through to the channel scan but will not scan and shows the picture behind the menu instead of the black screen while scanning. I have reset the factory settings, but this does not fix the problem. I have unplugged the tv and tried again to no avail. Are there codes to repair the problem or at least to list the problems? Thanks in advance. Dave Sexton

The main system memory IC has damaged. check and replace it. It can be located very near to main system control IC [an 8 solder terminal, small IC]. Even though it is very small in size, function to it when the set works is great. Work is a semi-skilled one. sometimes you might have to enter its service mode options to reset the mew memory IC. If such need occur, visit this site, named Electro-help. Check this link, and select the site.
If this hasn't been resolved, I do have some steps that will help you out. The link below will walk you through a power scan, which will program the remote to the tv. At that point, you will be able to change the channels on the tv with the remote.
Please go to tuning menu and select Auto Scan/ Auto Tuning to tune all available channels to store in tv memory. Factory reset actually delete all data/ settings in memory chip and set tv as it was in-box. Thanks.
A Converter hdtv box... is the SOOLUTION!!! try it..youll see!!! I had the same scan-turner problem with my Olevia "digital" Olevia tv!! Because I was curious i tried that to see what happen..and it worked!! Olevia tv fixed!!! Easy..your tv is not able to scan cahnnels...then, the solution is to plugging "a thing" that can do that: a converter box.
Tune the tv to a channel that is just blue screen. Then turn the tv off and unplug for at least 30 sec. Then plug the tv back in and turn it on. Then leave the tv on the blank screen channel go into the menu and do auto cable channel search. After the search is complete try all channels. This worked for me. My tv will not scan if the tv is on a channel that comes in. GOOD LUCK these tv's are junk .
cable or Ant.. ? after the scan if there is no channels found (0 digital, 0 analog) then try with cable or Ant to see if any of them work.. if they still don't pick up any channels and the whole yellow progress line goes across.. then it sounds like the tuner on the tv is bad.. and the tuner is part of the main-board so the whole main-board will have to be exchange or repair.. contact Amergence technology they are a 3rd party repair center that service Olevia TV's and they will be able to give you an idea on the repair cost..
