Fn key on dell inspiron 1501 keyboard not working

In my dell inspiron 1501 ,key " fn" is reverse working ie. without pressing "fn" key u=4 ,i=5 o=6 p=* j=1 k=2 l=3 m=0 /=+ etc.
pl solve this.

    I have a weird problem, the number 3 and all Fn + 0-9 digits won't work on my acer extensa 5230e. Any help would be much appreciated

Sounds like your number lock is on. Find the key with blue lettering that says 'Num Lk' (or something very similar). Press Fn and that key, and your number lock will be turned off and your keys will go back to normal.

    i have the same problem, and that isn't working for me. the only extra inforation i can give is above the keyboard, (where you can see if you have caps lock, connected to wifi, etc) the little lock with the number 9 is showing.

Hello, try to find a key on your keyboard that is named num lock (maybe with blue text.)
hold FN and push the num lock button and the proglem should be gone.

All you need to do is Simply Hold Down Fn key and hit Scroll lock onces, it will resolve the issue.

Function keys


Enter BIOS by pressing F2 or DEL or F10 (try all), and see if there is a Function key option. Change it, save and exit. If everything else is working fine, you can also try to push and hold Fn key and then press a function key.

Some of the keyboard keys are numbers instead of letters


Press the Numlock key, you might have to also press the Fn key to do it.

How do you turn numeric pad off of a dell inspiron 1501


To enable numeric keypad, just press "NumLk" key.

Fn key won't unlock


On Dell to activate press
<Fn> + <Num lock>
to deactivate press
<Fn> + <Num lock>
On most laptops you deactivate Fn pressing:
<Num lock>
or
<Fn> + <Num lock>
or try
<Strg> + <Shift> + <Num lock>

I cant find the Wireless button on my Dell Inspiron 1501


to turn on your wireless button on Inspiron 1501, Press Fn and F2 key together, which will turn on ur Wireless. And to disable it aswell, you need to use the same keys,

Press shift + numlock key. This will return the FN key to it's normal functionality, only working when you press it.

That is a keyboard problem .. You need to replace the keyboard ..until you do .. just use an external keyboard
