Sounds like you have some sort of infection - virus or adware related, most likely. Make sure that you have an antivirus program installed and up-to-date virus definitions. Go ahead and run a full system scan and see if any threats are identified and make sure that they are deleted or moved to quarantine.

Hope this helps.

Compac d-530 won't start red light under power button flashing

Take out the battery and only hook up the AC Adapter. Try turning on your laptop and if you still only get a flashing power button then try another AC Adapter. If the same thing happens then that means the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced.

Where and how do you install additional RAM in a HP Compac Persario F730?

This is a link for HP support. You can get manuals, tech support, etc. If you have a manual, it should give you a diagram of your board showing where memory sticks(ram) go.

Does the compac persario v5000......have a internal wire4less to get on line or no ?????

Looks like it does not, but has builtin support features if you add a wireless card. I have included here a link to the manual for the V5000 which is the source for my reply.

My pc checking hardware every time i open it (hp compac 530sff)

Enter your System Setup/System Options/BIOS Setup (How ever termed, it should flash on the screen quickly when showing the HP Logo)

Search for "Perform Quick Boot" and using the instructions on the bottom of the screen make sure this is set to "Quick Boot" (sometimes label fast boot etc.)

This sounds like the most possible cause of your issue. The machine is somehow set to do a Full/Diagnostic Boot.

This can happen if the backup battery has died and your machine has been unplugged for awhile. It is also possible for the machine to lose these settings on random occurrences, but very uncommon.

If the following has helped, consider purchasing a new BIOS battery.

I believe these machines use standard flat-cell batterys, this will be apparent simply by opening the case and looking for something resembling a quarter.

Good luck

Sorry it took me a while to track down your computer.  Basically you can hold two 1GB chips in your computer.
This website has them cheap, and these will work in your computer. http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=CT12864AC667

You can also upgrade the HDD as large as you would like, but that is not going to be cheap, and you have a large enough hard drive.
