No memory space in internal memory-no more pictures can be taken!

"No memory space in internal memory" is displayed even though I have a 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo inserted. At this point, I cannot take any more pictures! Is there anything I can do to remedy the mistake I must have unknowingly made?

"No memory space in internal memory"
Set camera in playback position, insert maximum 2GB memory stick in camera and press Menu, Format new inserted memory stick, select Copy and press OK. This will copy all pictures to memory stick stored in internal memory.
Now take out memory stick from camera and again press Menu and Format internal memory OR delete pictures one by one by pressing delete button.
Let me know if further help required.

There may be two problems. 1. Format your card before using it. 2. Switch your storage device to memory card and it will work. Hope it works..:))

You need to go to the store and buy Samsung S730 A-DATA 4GB SDHC Memory Card (Class 4)
It is worth about 8-20$. The memory card is used to save pictures. Here is an example: http://www.cellularfactory.com/camera/SAMSUNG/3/46100/

4GB "SD" cards are almost always actually SDHC (high capacity) cards. SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but they are slightly different electrically. Many cameras won't work with SDHC cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

So your camera is not able to use the 4GB card, and is ignoring it and using internal memory only. That memory is tiny and won't hold many pictures, and when it is full, the camera cannot work at all. You need to delete the pics in the internal memory and get a memory card your camera can understand (2GB or less).

My new Kodak M530 has taken 6 pictures and now says the internal memory is full. Surely thats rubbish and the camera is not fit for purpose?

The internal memory is quite small, and isn't really designed for storing pictures. You need to fit a memory card to take a reasonable number of pictures, but first you will have to delete the pics in the internal memory (or at least some of them) because the camera needs some free space there to work at all.

This is a problem with the memory card. I don't know why your camera is not giving an error message of some kind- it seems to know that it can't store pictures there.

Probably the first thing to try is formatting the card. There is a function in the camera menus to do this. If it won't format or gives an error when you try, then there may be an issue with the connectors in the card slot or the card may be incompatible.

Maybe it is having trouble with the size of the memory. Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards.

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

I have vivitar 5024 camera. i have a 4gb chip in it, i have only taken about 50 pic. and the camera says the chip has no more pictures to be taken on chip

Try taking photos on a lower resolution. They use much less space on your memory card. But only 50 on 4gb means something is wrong.

Check to see everything on the card is actually a picture and not a video. Taking videos can chew up amazing amounts of space, after all a video is a huge string of photos strung together. I hate to think it but some time ago a conamn was selling doctored memory cards which read 4gb on your camera but actually held only 2 gb. I would've thought these could have been long gone but if you purchesed it used it could well be one of those. Although I'd still expect more than 50 shots.
Maybe your card requirers a format. If your camera has a formatting capability try it out, just make sure you do it with a known good set of fully charged batteries. If they die halfway through a format it can wreck your card.
Your camera should certainly allow more pictures to be taken on a 4gb card. Buy check the above and maybe borrow a card from a friend to try out or even a another card. A spare sure comes in handy and with today's prices they're as cheap as chips.

Does your camera have an internal memory? If so, format it with your memory card out of the camera. Then, format the new card in the camera.
