The manual says: Follow the directions given in the Easy Setup Instructions to install the Print Head. If the Print Head is already installed, remove the Print Head once and then reinstall it. If the error is not resolved, the Print Head may be damaged. Contact your Canon Service representative.
take care putting the head in as discribed in the setup description. I'll think it over if there could me more
This error mean "non installed or defective print head".First open cover and remove the ink cartridges.Then open holder and remove the print head.Clean the contacts on printer and print head using piece of cotton and some alcohol.Then put back all again.If the problem persist you need to replace the print head.It's part number is QY6-0057.
if yr printer is under woranty u need to do company services system coz i think that u do what as u abov say that u do a initial stape or if yr printer not on woranty and if u know a normal clining system do cline pritner otherwise u need to replace head...
if yr printer show red light blink do press 5sec. then print it..may be it's help u if u have any quary tell me feel free...
I Had The Same exact thing on my MP210, Check if there is a peice of paper in it or just somethign that would restrict the Ink Cartrige Tray from opening, I had a peice of paper stuck in it and I had to gently pull it out :) And I was printing in no time :P
