Panasonic SA-HE100 5.1 Channels Receiver

No Left Front sound from Panasonic SA-HE100

By Gary10 - usenet poster

I've had this receiver for 2 years and didn't notice any problems until
I ran test tones and noticed that left front speaker does not make any
sound. In order to check if this is the speaker, wiring or received
problem I switched left and rights speaker connections on the receiver
and now there was no sound from the right speaker. This tells me that
the receiver is not sending any sound to the left front speaker.

Did anyone have any similar problem with Panasonic SA-HE100 or any
other receiver? How it was solved and how much did it cost to fix?

Thanks,

Steve

Sorry, I must have been not very precise in my post. When I swapped
the wires on the receiver the speaker that made no sound before started
to work, but the other speaker went mute. This told me that the
speakers and the wires are okay, but the output from the receiver is
bad. I am not sure if it's the binding post or some internal
connection. I tried reconnecting the wires to the binding posts. That
didn't fix it. I don't use banana plugs, but the stripped wire
inserted at the base of the post and tightened by the twist top.

I am really reluctant to disconnect all my cables and drag the receiver
to the service center. It's gonna be a major pain.

What you described says that the speaker is blown. If not sound left,
then switched and now, no sound right, that's the speaker, not the
reciever.
