    Hi,

thanks for trying, it plugged in several different usb sticks and my usb external hd, and none were detected !

Well, I found a link for on-line help from Belkin itself. They came back to me real soon (a few hours only), and their help was very successful : disable the firewall on the computer for a moment, plug in the usb device in the router, and see, DETECTED and ACCESSIBLE !!
After that, you can enable the software firewall, the usb device remains visible and usable !!

    Problem solved, thus

    Thanks for helping
    Rafael

You said:"USB devices plugged in the usb port"The Router includes a USB port in the back panel for one storage device (flash drive or external hard drive). It is NOT used for anything else! If that is all you have, then check your settings in the router itself.

    Hello.

Well I tried to lookup a users manual, and to no avail, I found nothing in the English language. I am assuming that the users manual it came with has nothing but some "quick setup" instructions, and nothing more, right? Well good luck with that. I will continue on, and ask around to see if anyone I know might have an answer. So if you get a resolution before I could get an answer for you, just let me know.

You are not the only person having problems with the Belkin N750 DB Wireless Dual Band Router. Are you using the correct cables? One more thing you can check, does it have a reset button on the bottom or the side? Try those two things.

You've two options. One is to just copy the files off your disk to an USB drive and another one is to connect to your USB devices via the media server feature on your router. The latter can possibly be difficult to do.

How can I get my Belkin router to read my Seagate storage device so that all computers in the house can access said Seagate storage device?

1) Turn off your wireless router and unplug the external hard drive you want to make wireless.
2) Plug an Ethernet cable to the "Network-attached storage" device, and the other end of the cable to an available Ethernet port on your wireless router.
3) Connect one end of the USB cable to the wireless router's available USB port and the other end of the USB cable to your "External" hard drive.
4) Turn on the both the Wireless router and the External hard drive. Make sure that your Internet connection is still working.
5) Insert the installation CD and run it on your computer. Follow the installation instructions and install any utilities related to your external hard drive. There may be special utilities provided for flash drives that are not needed for hard drives.
6) Create a login name and security password for the "NAS" device during the setup process. When the installation process is completed, you will now be able to use your external hard drive.

Hi, we have a toshiba S1800-254 computer and need to make it wireless, so we were wondering what card to use what to do with it and where we can we buy one ?

Seeing as how its an older laptop, your best option would be to get a wireless USB G network adapter, it plugs into a USB port on your laptop, then get a wireless G router to match up with your wireless G Network USB adapter. Stick with Belkin if you can since they have been reliable from my own experience. Get a Belkin Wireless G Router and a Belkin wireless G USB Network Adapter. At that point you'll have wireless access and it will run you under $100 dollars.

WD My Book 1TB not recognised by belkin modem router USB storage

If I understand correctly ... You have not connected the drive to a computer.

If I am not mistaken the WD My Book has preinstalled backup software installed on it. It very well might also have a power down built as part of that programming. Try attaching it to a computer to verify this.

Assuming the backup software needs blank drive to work correctly I would first access the drive select all and delete anything you find (if you know how to unhide hidden files do that before you select and delete all) ... As a 2nd option I would just reformat the drive.

Hope that helps....

Belkin 802.11a/b/g usb adapter

It sounds like the plug on the USB wireless dongle is bad or the usb ports in your computer are having problems. My Toshiba notebook does the same thing with the two usb ports near the front of the computer but works fine from the two on the back. When you have a flash drive plugged into the USB do you frequently get the new hardware found message as if you had unplugged and replugged the drive? If you have a powered external USB hub try plugging that in first then when that is stable plugging the USB wireless dongle into the hub rather than the computer. If it is stable then the problem is on the power pin in the USB port of your computer. Good Luck

WD My Book 1TB not recognised by belkin modem router USB storage

I have a work around for this.

In the detail of the Belkin manuals it says you can attach up to 4 USB storage devices via a USB HUB.

I had an old Hub so I Connected the HUB to the router and the Maxtor to the HUB --- It worked :-) It came up in a few seconds.

At first I powered the HUB but later took the power out of the hub and it still worked ;-} However when I used a different HUB it would not work without power to the HUB.

The HUB I use is an old Belkin 4 port Tetra Hub. The newer 7 port Belkin HUB (5 Rear 2 Top) only worked with the HUB powered.

Hope this helps untill Belkin Upgrade the Router sofrtare.

This is not as complicated as it may sound. You don't need the manager. Bring up the "run" window (XP - Start - Run / Vista Alt-R). Enter the following address [\\192.168.2.1] press enter. The drive will show up. Right click on it and select Map Network Drive. You can then uninstall the useless program from Belkin.
