Hi i have a pioneer dv424 system and something went wrong with it the timer indicator flashes only but the system does not work or function at all help please thanks

As to the timer function, maybe I don't recall any of these units ever having such a feature, however, that would out be the source of your issue anyway. Here's a couple of things to try first. Please check all your speaker wires, to be sure that there are no strands of fine wire touching the positive and negative terminals. If that is OK, open your manual, about 2/3 of the way to the back, and you will find a procedure called, "Return to factory defaults......or just Reset". You can try that procedure, but if that still doesn't remedy your problem, your unit probably has a condition known as DC Offset(meaning a damaged amp). If you need further information, or would like to inquire about a repair, please visit me website at You may contact me there. Thank you.

My pioneer blu ray player displays " no disc " message when insert any disc , Can you pls advice the chance of problem

The most likely problem is a bad optical pickup(the lens is part of that) aka laser. If the laser is weak, it can't read the disk, hence the error "no disk". For more information, or should you have further questions, please visit my website at You may contact me through the website. Thank you.

I have the THC C-40 I am interested in purchasing another receiver from this line? Because my DVD tray isn't working on the current system so what other unit might I be able to connect the current...

The chances of another unit hooking to the current speakers is slim to none. While "home-theater-in-a-box" systems like that tend to be inexpensive, the drawback is that they are not compatible with other equipment. According to the Owners Manual, the ONLY unit they are compatible with is the JVC XV-THC50 or XV-THC60. Your best bet is to look for a new system that uses more standardized speakers (five 8 ohm speakers and a subwoofer that has an RCA style input and is powered by its own amp).

I need just the dvd player or one that is compatable with the system. know what is compatable?

I have the same system, but my subwoofer/amplifier is messed up. If you wanted to buy just the dvd player I'd sell you mine.

Pioneer XV-DV424 dvd player does not recognise bought dvds (region2) -we are in region 2. Recognises every other disc fomats eg DVD R, CVC, CD

Is the player a region 2? Just because you are in region 2 does not automatically make a player from another region change....accordianaman

Pioneer xv-dv424 power problem?

Try disconnecting all the speakers and turn it on. If it stays on, then a speaker (most likely sub) is gone and shorted, causing the system to shut down to prevent it from being damaged. Hooking up one at a time and powering on should help you find the bad one. If it still shuts down with all speakers disconnected, then you've got internal problems with the system itself. Time to visit a repair man.

Hope this helps, and please rate my advice, good OR bad.

Good luck!
