Re: wont start when trying to turn on only z light turn...
Probably your battery, dont think it would be anything else... i know that they did have a recall, but it was for the T40s and others, you should check at this website, you put the barcode in and it'll let you know... otherwise you still might need a new battery.... there's really not much else you can do with this kind of problem.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

A lot of pilot lights have a thermal coupler... the pilot light must be lit for several min to open the coupler so the pilot light will not go out.... the newer systems use an electronic ignition and no pilot light and need power to autostart but the coupler may be gone if you are holding that pilot start button down for several min and the pilot light is still going out..ps.. leave it in pilot mode for several min after initial start up before turning turning full burner operation operation operation operation operation operation operation it will snuff out the pilot light.
Have you tried pulling the battery out f the device? The reason I ask is because the fact that your keyboard is lighting up, suggests the device is powering on, but not displaying anything.
Try to pull the battery, then start the phone again. See if anything comes up. If nothing comes on the screen, but the keyboard is still lit, try calling the phone, does it ring? If it does, you can assume the display has gone out.
look inside on panel directions if not turn to pilot setting hold down button light under where small silver line goes under while holding down button when lit keep holding for about a minute then turn to on should stay lit if wont stay lit need new pilot generator
My first step would be to take the laptop apart again. If it worked after the new fan installation, then can you install the old one (bearing the noise for a bit) and see if it turns on. Then replace the old with the new and if it fails, then perhaps the new fan is grounding your system out.
while you start the phone, with one hand you keep pressing *+3 while you presss on/off buttonwith other hand. With this method you will hard reset your phone, what means that you will loose ALL personal data.
Plug the Motorola charger into the end of the headset. The blue indicator light turns on when the battery is charging. It may take up to 1 minute for the light to turn on. When the headset's battery is fully charged (about 2 hours), the blue indicator light turns off. 1 With the headset power off, press and hold the Call button for 6 to 10 seconds until the blue indicator light turns on and remains steadily lit. Note: The blue light will flash as you press and hold the Call button. Continue holding down the Call button until the blue light is steadily lit. Note: If you let go of the Call button before the blue light is on and steady, ensure that your headset is off before trying again.
