- I have a Sony DCR-HC17E. Suddenly LCD screen went blank. Sony wants to charge me 100 euros to replace the flexible cable, but, I'm not willing to give that amount of money for an old video camera and for a problem that sooner or later will reoccur. I will buy a new one and definately not Sony, because, I believe that the failure of the ribbon cable was 'premeditated' from Sony to gain money from a 'dead corpse'. - jenchloe
