Iintend to change my sata hard drive to a SSD hard drive. How do I format before change

When you install Windows on your new SSD hard drive you can then transfer data from your old hard drive using an USB hard drive adapter or install the old hard drive into an USB hard drive adapter case and use it as an USB external hard drive after you have transferred your data to your laptop.
When you connect the USB hard drive adapter to the laptop, the laptop will see it as an external storage device, you can then open the various folders anf files and copy them to your new hard disk.

Where should acrossover UTP cable are used?

Crossover UTP cable is used from point to point communications between 2 computers or it connects two devices of the same type. For example DTE - DTE or DCE - DCE. DTE stands for data terminal equipment and DCE stands for data circuit terminating equipment. It is connected directly from one computer to the other.
Hope this simple solution could help you to solve your problem. Mam/Sir don't forget me to rate me up I really appreciate what ratings you have given to me. Thanks a lot and God Bless.

I want to connect my new toshiba laptop to my xbox 360. i do not want to use the wireless option. what type of cable do i need to achieve this? i have windows 7. my ultimate goal is to get windows media...

Both devices are "DTE" (Data Terminating Equipment).
So, you'll need a "crossover" Ethernet cable, to turn one 'DTE' into one 'DCE' (Data Concentrator Equipment). But, that is not a "complete" solution.

You could buy an external TV-adapter, and connect it to a USB port on your computer, and connect that adapter to a TV coax cable, and watch TV on your laptop's screen.

Then, connect the VGA-output from your PC to the VGA-input on your TV, and you can push the TV-image from your PC to your LCD TV.

Networking with xp n windows7 system

If you are connecting directly from computer to computer, you need a crossover cable (Cable specific to direct computer to computer connection) otherwise you need two cables and a hub/switch/router to connect.

Can't connect Dell TrueMobile 1184 with Adtran NetVanta 3200

It sounds like you need to "crossover" the connection.

Using a crossover patch cable to connect the two devices is the first thing that comes to mind. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethernet_crossover_cable)

However, some routers/switches have physical buttons on ports to cross them over or you can use their web-based management to change port settings.

I hope this helps.

How i can conect my netbook withe my desktop to transfear data from the first to the secound

you either buy a crossover cable (a rewired network cable for PC to PC connectivity)
or use two standard network cables, and connect them both to a Networking HUB.

if you have no networking hardware as per above, use a USB stick or portable harddrive and copy the data to that, using that drive as a middle-man.

I cant connect to two computers at the same time

How to connect....

1- Two Computers:

# We are connect two computers together to share Internet, printer, scanner, files, and even programs

We can do it through either way:

1- Use A Crossover Cable And Two Network Cards. Two network cards are installed in two computers. Then use crossover cable to connect them.

2- Use a Phone Line and Two Special Adapters Sold as "Phone line network Kit". Two adapters are installed in two computers. Then use existing Phone line to connect them.

Connecting Two Computers Wirelessly:

1- Wi-Fi
2- Bluetooth
3- Infrared

Several types of fixtures exist for home networking:

1- Hubs
2- Switches
3- Routers

2- Computer with the internet

Before you can connect to the Internet and access the World Wide Web, you need to have certain equipment. In brief, you must have:

-A computer (preferably running an up-to-date operating system); -
-A modem and access to a telephone line or a local area network (LAN) that is in turn connected to the Internet; and connection software that will allow you to establish an account with a service provider and access the Internet

You Need:

Modem: This converts your digital computer information into analogue telephone signals. Phone Line: his may be your biggest expense after the equipment.

Internet Service Provider (ISP): ISP has a permanent connection to the Internet.

ADSL: a newly standardized transmission technology facilitating simultaneous use of normal telephone services, data transmission of 6 Mbit/s in the downstream and Basic-rate Access (BRA).

ADSL facilitates the simultaneous use of normal telephone services, ISDN, and high speed data transmission.

Another advantage of having an ADSL line is not missing calls while you're online, as both voice and data can be transferred at the same time.

Transfering data from one computer to another

I think there is no way to do that. You CAN do it, however, with a crossover cable. It looks the same as a regular cable, but it's not. With the crossover cable, just connect the two computers and give 'em two IP's in the same network. Then enable file sharing and it should work. Sorry, I can't go into much detail because I haven't done that in a looong time, but I think that's about it. Hope it helps.

Crossover Cable

crossover cables are designed to connect two DCEs (data communication equipments like modems) or two DTEs(data terminal equipments like computers)
most routers nowadays have smart ports so you can use either a crossover or a straight-through cable to connect a computer. but if your router doesn't have smart ports, it's advisable to use straight-through cables

hope this'll help you

ciao!
