Question about Computers & Internet

I am using LLC 2.6.0 (302) on my iMac 10.5.6. I receive the pop up window indicating that my USB MX air is connected but unable to move the cursor. I have switched the on/off slide button while holding down the left mouse button, then clicking the right mouse button five times, then releasing all mouse buttons. I still have no mouse movement at all. While doing the above I disconnected my old laser mouse. My mouse is fully charged. Have the usb transmit/receive in a powered usb hub as well as into the back of my computer but still can't get the cursor to move. Thank You John Flanagan Below is Logitech mouse info. I was not getting any charging lights from the mouse while it was in the charger! I guess the batteries were not hooked up inside. I sent it backed to Amazon and they sent me a new one which is working fine. Thanks, it was a battery problem.

Unable to move cursor on lenovo x61

Are you trying to move the cursor with the trackpoint, a usb mouse, or the pen? Have you tried restarting your computer? Restarting would likely solve the problem. If you can't move the cursor to the start menu, you can open the start menu with the windows key, use the arrow keys to navigate to the power options. Use enter to select the power options and shut down or restart the computer. If this does not work, press and hold the power button for 5 or 10 seconds to force the computer to shut down.

What happened before this occurred? Did you install any programs or updates recently, or change any settings on your computer?

How to install

Plug in the reciever into the computer and make sure the mouse has fresh batteries. Once you are in Windows, press the link button on the receiver. The indicator light should start blinking. Then within two seconds press the link button on the bottom of the mouse, the indicator light should quit blinking. After re-linking the devices move the mouse to see if it moves the cursor. If the cursor does not move, then move the mouse and see if the indicator light on the receiver blinks. If the device does not blink then try re-linking the devices again.

Keyboard does not type

If all the keys on the keyboard have stopped functioning follow the instructions below to reconnect the keyboard.

This problem is likely to be a lost connection. The connection between the mouse and the USB mini-receiver or the keyboard and the USB mini-receiver can be lost due to several reasons such as:
  • Low batteries
  • Moving the USB mini-receiver from one USB port to another
  • Moving the USB mini-receiver to another computer
  • Plugging the USB mini-receiver into a USB hub or other unsupported device such as a KVM switch (your USB mini-receiver must be plugged directly into your computer)
  • Using your cordless mouse/keyboard on metal surfaces
  • Radio frequency (RF) interference of more powerful wireless devices such as:
    • Wireless speakers
    • Computer power supplies
    • Monitors
    • Cellular telephones
    • Garage door openers
Eliminate any problem sources mentioned above that might be affecting your devices.

Follow the procedures below to reconnect your mouse and keyboard.
  1. Make sure the USB mini-receiver is directly and securely plugged into a working USB port on your computer.
  2. Make sure the mouse is turned on. The on/off indicator on the bottom of the mouse should be green. If the on/off indicator is not illuminated, press and hold the red connect button on the bottom of the mouse until the on/off indicator is green.

  3. Press and release the red connect button on the underside of the USB mini-receiver. This will broadcast a signal to your mouse. This broadcast will last only a few seconds, so you must perform the next step quickly.

    Red Connect Button
  4. Quickly press the red connect button on the bottom of the mouse for 1 second, then release it. The power indicator will flash briefly and then turn green. The mouse is now connected to the receiver.

Red Connect Button NOTE: Holding down the red button on the mouse for more than 2 seconds may cause your mouse to turn off instead of connecting. If this occurs, start again at step number 2.
  5. Move your mouse to see if the cursor moves. If the cursor follows the mouse movements, your mouse is now connected.
  6. Press and release the red connect button on the underside of the USB mini-receiver. This will broadcast a signal to your keyboard. This broadcast will last only a few seconds, so you must perform the next step quickly.

    Red Connect Button
  7. Quickly press and release the red connect button on the underside of the keyboard.
    Keyboard Connect Button

  8. You will hear a short beep. The keyboard is now connected to the receiver.
  9. Test your keyboard to see if it is working. If the mouse now works but the keyboard still does not, see Knowledge Base article 9144.

The pc is unable to detect the sansa disk

If you are using Windows XP: verify the following operating system requirements are met. - Windows XP SP2 or higher - Windows Media Player 10 or higher
Download and install the latest Windows Media Player if it's not installed.
If you are using Windows Vista: If the player is seen in My Computer when using MTP mode, but not showing in Windows Media Player. - Download the hotfix from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939211. - Run the hotfix.
Refresh the driverd
1 - Connect the Sansa player to the PC The screen on your player should turn on, show 'Connected' and indicate the battery charging or full. - If the player does not turn on try other USB ports or on another computer if one is readily available. Ensure you are connecting directly to the computer USB port and not to a USB hub. - If there is nothing showing on the screen and the player does show up in as a storage device in an explorer window, then the screen is just not working.
If you receive the error "USB Device Not Recognized" on the computer, the player is most likely failed. Additional troubleshooting is unlikely to correct the problem.

My wireless dell mouse isnt working I changed the batteries and still the cursor isnt moving?

there is usually some sort of connect button on both the mouse and then receiver unit that is plugged into the computer, sometimes you have to hold down the connect buttons on each unit simultaneously so that they will connect, i dont know if you have done this or not, otherwise it is always possible that you have a bad mouse, if this is one of those usb wireless mice try moving the usb receiver to a different port and let windows reinitialize it

Keyboard and Mouse don't work anymore

Hi, Sorry you are having problems,
Well Marcelo, the first thing to do in a situation like this is to restart your Mac or even better, shut down and restart. So, if you have done this, and still the keyboard and mouse don't respond, and, as you have mentioned, you have tried the other USB ports on the back of the Mac, it sounds like somehow, unexpectedly, your iMac motherboard got a shock of some kind and it killed the USB controller....
Last thing to try is to unplug the iMac completely of everything and let it sit for 10 minutes and then plug just the keyboard and mouse back in and try to see if that does the trick..
Otherwise, Apple will cover this if it is still under warranty.
Good Luck.

A4Tech R7 problem

Normal 0 Turn the mouse over and find the small rest/connect button on the bottom of the mouse and press it. This should connect the mouse to the receiver and work properly. If not, try pressing the receiver button and then press the button on the mouse. This should be done whenever you change batteries or glitch.
if that doesn't work try
Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the software program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Connecting Yamaha piano (YDP-131) to imac g5

You want to go into your AUDIO/MIDI set up in OS X. Selet the unit. YOu have a MAC so most itmes dont needs drivers, its one of the many great things that separate that operating systems from say windows. Also your yamaha may be CLASS COMPLIANT, which means plug and play no matter what computer you are using.

What you should do is make sure the keyboard is set to send on the same channel as garageband is set to receive.

Keep me posted.
