Lenovo T-61 horizontal lines on right side of screen

I was getting the black screen and a message that the video driver had failed and recovered. Within a couple days, I started getting horizontal lines on the right 1/2 of the screen. I've updated the Nvidea Quadro NVS 140M driver, but it made no difference. Any ideas??????

Sounds like you have a defective lcd screen, there are these conductive rubber pieces that lead the signal into the lcd panel and once the connection deteriorates there is no going back. this could still be replaced, there are laptop repair places that do it, but you have to have to weight your options with buying a new laptop, repair could be up to 50% of what your's is worth as a 2nd hand laptop.
if you're up for it, you can replace it yourself, it's pretty much plug and play, look for guides online, screens are on ebay.

So I have a 50 Lg ( LG 50LN5700). There is still a picture however about every 3 seconds it goes from regular to blurry and repeats. There seem to be about 3 black lines across the top horizontally about 3...

To clarify, are the 3 black lines horizontal (left to right across entire width of screen)? or are the 3 black lines vertical (top to bottom across entire height of screen)?

Horizontal lines are almost always the result of a failed panel, and no board replacement will fix the issue.

Vertical lines such as you have described (only 3) are probably also a bad panel. If the black lines were evenly spaced in a repeating pattern, it could be a mainboard or TCONN board.

Has this panel been cracked? or perhaps cleaned recently with too much water or cleaning solvent that has gotten the screen wet?

You may have to sell the TV for parts.

From your description you have a display issue, you can hook a monitor to the video output to rule out the video graphics chip, if okay! the LCD screen on the laptop will need to be replaced, you can check prices at www.ebay.com type make and model of laptop, refine search to screen.

Hi. I think you have uninstall your display driver and download the updated drivers on the Lenovo driver support website.

Go to this website and download the video driver for your laptop: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?doctypeind=9&template=/productselection/landingpages/downloadsDriversLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo
just make sure that you choose the correct or corresponding operating system that you have on your laptop (e.g XP, VISTA or Windows 7)

After downloading the video driver install it on your laptop then restart you computer. Goodluck!

Black line down right side of screen

turn off laptop.
press and hold on the D then press Power button.
during the LCD BIST test check if the black line down right side of the screen is visible. if yes LCD needs to be replaced. if not connect your laptop to an external monitor check if the black line display appears to the ext monitor, if yes uninstall / reinstall video driver if fails replace video card or if it is built in replace motherboard.

if no ext monitor available then run PSA (press and hold Fn key then press Power button)

If the screen works for a short while and then completely fails once the TV warms up you have a problem with the main unit video board or the LCD control logic board. Most often if the picture cuts out but audio continues to work the logic board is over heating and should be replaced. However if the picture cuts out and audio shuts off as well then its your video input board.

How to fix horisontal lines on display ( see the picture)? They stronger when system is restarted and then fading but never disappearing. They always stay the same.

horizontal lines can be caused by either a faulty grapchics card or a faulty monitor. try adjusting the screen refresh rate. if you are using a windows xp system goto

start>control panel>display>settings>advanced>monitor

then adjust the screen refresh rate and see if the horizontal lines disappear. if not, then you probably have a faulty graphics card or monitor.
