Lenovo T-61 horizontal lines on right side of screen
I was getting the black screen and a message that the video driver had failed and recovered. Within a couple days, I started getting horizontal lines on the right 1/2 of the screen. I've updated the Nvidea Quadro NVS 140M driver, but it made no difference. Any ideas??????

Re: Lenovo T-61 horizontal lines on right side of screen
Sounds like you have a defective lcd screen, there are these conductive rubber pieces that lead the signal into the lcd panel and once the connection deteriorates there is no going back. this could still be replaced, there are laptop repair places that do it, but you have to have to weight your options with buying a new laptop, repair could be up to 50% of what your's is worth as a 2nd hand laptop. if you're up for it, you can replace it yourself, it's pretty much plug and play, look for guides online, screens are on ebay.

I would recommend that if you have any external monitor connect the laptop to the monitor and check if same thing is happening on the external monitor as well. If Yes, it seems to be the driver issue, kindly install the updated video/graphics driver of the Lenovo system. If No, it seems that there is physical issue with your Lenovo screen that needs to be checked physically at the repair centre.
If you donot have the external monitor still update the Lenovo graphics/video drivers and check if it fixed the issue, otherwise, take it to the repair centre to get it checked physically.
From your description you have a display issue, you can hook a monitor to the video output to rule out the video graphics chip, if okay! the LCD screen on the laptop will need to be replaced, you can check prices at www.ebay.com type make and model of laptop, refine search to screen.
You can try to uninstall and reinstall the video driver in dev manager. try to check if this happens in bios aswell if it does then it may be the lcd itself. You can contact the manufacturer to have the lcd replaced if your computer is still under warranty.hope this helps...
turn off laptop. press and hold on the D then press Power button. during the LCD BIST test check if the black line down right side of the screen is visible. if yes LCD needs to be replaced. if not connect your laptop to an external monitor check if the black line display appears to the ext monitor, if yes uninstall / reinstall video driver if fails replace video card or if it is built in replace motherboard.
if no ext monitor available then run PSA (press and hold Fn key then press Power button)
check if the black line is visible. Check also in BIOS is black line is visible, if yes then uninstall reinstall first the video driver if fails replace LCD.
