PS3 80Gb can not connect to Infocus X10 via HDMI

I have upgrade my 40Gb with new 80Gbb PS3, and the 80Gb can not connect with my Infocus X10 via HDMI cable.

First a dialog box appears on the bottom left corner " Setting up Image" and then "No input sinyal" is showing.

I've  tried the unit to my LCD via hdmi, its works fine.

My setting resolution is 720P.
Audio out via optical to receiver.
I use PS3 to watch blu ray movie.

Thanks

Same problem here too. I have tried suggested method to get the PS3 to send via HDMI cable to an InFocus X10 but I just get audio from the optical going to my audio amp but no image on the X10 projector.

Any other thoughts from anyone would be great. - DAZ-B

Same problem, can't find solution. Tested with 40G - worked fine.

I have the excact same problem, and from googling the issue, I guess we are not alone. BTW, the solution with the 5-second-button-hold does not fix this problem, because I think it's a HDMI handshake problem with the 80Gb PS3. If that is software or hardware related I do not know, but maybe Sony could fix it with a new firmware upgrade in the future if it is only the software.

Tomorrow I get a new reciever, a Pioner VSX 1018, so maybe I can get a signal through that one... If I remember it, I'll try to get another reply in here later.

Same problem with newly acquired PS3 80GB and an Infocus x10. I manage to, sometimes get an image through HDMI in lowest resolution, but as soon as the PS switches resolution, the projector reports "no signal".

I read somewhere, that turning off DDC on the HDMI input might helt, after a reset (5-10 sec. hold of power button) on the PS, but that didn't work for me either.

    Any suggestions?

Same problem here too. I have a PS3 80 gig and an infocus IN80. I got them to talk to each other a bit after days of fiddling, but I am still losing the picture signal if I try to stop a movie or change some settings. Really frustrating.

This is an X10 problem. When connecting the PS3 through the VSX1018, the image comes on perfectly with (mostly) no glitches. The reciever is then working as the HDMI-extender many use to solve this issue. The reciever on the other hand "does not use itself as an extender", so when the GUI from the reciever tries to set up an image on screen, the same handshake issue arises. This means I cannot use the room correction feature on the reciever since it requires an onscreen image to be completed.

So, without some sort of HDMI extender or amplifier (just a splitter does not work), the issue is still unresolved. Considering that products from several different manufacturers give the same problem, I'm inclined to say that this is Infocus' mess...

On a brighter note, when this setup does work, it is an unbeatable combination of pure hidef joy:)

It is not your hard drive
you have to reset the video setting and it will work again Hdmi is different on each tv so you have set this up again ok let's do this with the unit off turn the main switch on the back of the unit connect your Hdmi cable to your tv now place your finger on the front on/off switch keep your finger there ok now turn the mainswitch on the back of the unit the playstation turns on but don't remove your finget yet wait about 4 seconds or until your heard another bip (not the one when the playstation turns on) once you heard this bip remove your finger before the playstation turns off if you let it turn off try again all of this but if you remove your finger on time just wait few more seconds and bingo you have picture again using Hdmi

Was working fine, now no sound via HDMI cable. TV audio works fine from other source.

It appears that your HDMI output is going out. It is very common.

You will need to upgrade (if you do not have) to an digital output for sound while using the HDMI cables. I understand that once you go HDMI there is no going back. Keep in mind that those component cables look pretty good, the gold platted ones. In case things don't work out.

You can try to reset the factory settings:

Press and hold the power button until the systems shuts off. (wait 2 seconds)

Press and hold the power button again until you here 3 beeps. Let go.

It should ask you to connect your controller via usb and press the PS button in

the middle of your controller. There will be a menu with 6 options. Try 1-4.

Keep in mind that certain options will erase precious data from your hard drive. Be sure to back up your data first.

I need to reset my ps3

Be sure to backup your settings/games saves by doing a System > Backup on your PS3 or you may lose your game saves! Also, this is a last resort procedure prior to exchanging/returning to sony.
1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn’t detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).

PS3 to Infocus LP 350 projector using HDMI

Hi,

M1-DA is a type of DVI connection that produces both analogue and digital signals, the easiest and most quality source cable for you to get is a HDMI to M1-DA cable which is now widely available for purchase.

Infocus should have included this cable in with your projector, but instead the power at bee decided to put a M1-DA to DVI-D cable instead when most visual devices now support HDMI and not DVI nowadays.

Thanks

PS3 not working on 42'' JVC via HDMI cable port

I have the PS3 and this TV and it works....Try this.

1. Turn ON TV
2. Connect HDMI from TV to PS3
3. Select the correct HDMI input on the TV for the PS3(important)
4.Turn OFF PS3 if it is ON.
5. hold [I/O] Power button on PS3
6. Wait about 5 second and you should get the "HDMI Detected" or some similar message.
7. Configure the HDMI output for the PS3

Also, If you set the PS3 to "auto" for hdmi, it may set the resolution to 1080i. You may want to deselect everthing but the 1080P.

I want to connect two tvs through one 40gb ps3, is this possible

It's not possible without a special external video box. You can poke around ebay to see if there is one that will do what you want. I'd try searching for "PS3 converter"

40gb hdmi

I had the same problem at first. I did the following:

1. Connect both cables: Multi-AV and HDMI.
2. Go to the TV's channel for SCART.
3. You now can see the PS3. Go to Display Settings, under
Settings menu. Select HDMI and the desired resolution.
4. Change to the HDMI channel.
5. You should now also see the PS3's XMB on the HDMI channel.
6. You can now disconnect the Multi-AV.

I hope this information can help you and your customer.
Please rate.

P.S. I figured you were Dutch since you used Neophyte as a name for your previous question. Are you Dutch, and in that case: what videogames store you work at?

Shadowing on screen

You should get a good surge protector. Sometimes some areas have a spike in the power. That will cause interference in the TV signal coming from your PS 3. Try out different surge protectors that should solve your problem.
