There is a switch on the front of the radio to shut it off.....or there is a connection in the radio located where the external speaker jack is. Its just a small resistor anda small piece of wire. If you can't locate an electronics shop in your area to do it, try locating a HAM radio short wave radio club, and contact them. They'll know exactly who to send you to, or they may be able to do it for you! Hope that helped

I have a 3300 hp when i key up and start talking the sound shuts off on my end the needle still moves and people can hear me then when they talk back i cant hear them the radio is recieving and in order...

Keeping it simple first

1. Try another mic it could be a short at mic plug/cord
2. Plug in an external speaker or check internal speader wires for short

You refer to it as a Base so i would assume you are not mobile. Vibration in a vehicle can be devastating to solder trace side of radio pcboard.

I have to turn the volume wide open on my connex 3300 hpzx to be able to hear it . It recieves great but the volume is not load and i even tryed an extenal speaker on it

The RX wire could be broke in the mic cord. You will still get receive when you have the talk back is on, but it will be low. Try another mic.

How can i disconnect the talk back on a connex 3300 plus? pleasa be specific on directions. thanks

in older connex 3300's you cannot disable the talk back. Its part of the audio chain. If you disable the talk back you will loose your audio. There are 2 things you can do.

Hook a relay to the speaker so that when the radio key's id disconnects the speaker. (Big pain, not worth the trouble.)

The other will not disable the talk back but it will stop any squealing.

Use a noise canceling mic. An RK-56 will work great. You will get no squealing with that mic.

How do u make the talkbalk louder on a connex 3300hp

There are problems with having a loud talk back. You can get feed back and an annoying squeal when you transmit. That is why the talk back isn't that loud to begin with.

The reason you use talk back is to check your echo, and make sure your mic gain is not too high. It shouldn't need to be that loud to check it.

I highly recommend you leave it at the level that it is.

If their isn't a switch you will have to go into it and disconnect it. I would recommend having a professional do this. It is very miticulous.

MIc. feed back

When ever an Export radio is modified and tuned especially the talk back it will feed back bad!! When you have this tune done to the radio the stock microphone is no longer any good to use and no longer an option!! The radio tech. should have explained this to you!! You will now have to use a very good quality Noise cancelling Microphone for the Connex it is recommended to use an Astatic 636L Microphone. They work real well with the Export radios or if you prefer you can get an Turner RK-56 Microphone but they are alot more expensive and my opinion is the the RK-56 is over rated and they do rob your radio of some audio!! The Astatic 636L gets rid of most feedback problem and make your voice soumd crisp and claer!! If that dont do the trick than you have to take the radio back to the tech that did the work and tell them to install a larger resistance on the talback modification they did!!
