Go to to control panel, display, settings, advanced, colormanagement and found that the color profile on the monitor didn't match the color profile for the printer. Once I had the same profile for both I no longer have a problem. these newer systems have more ways to customize things. My older system never had these options so when you say you have a new system it makes me think you may have it a similar problem.
your printer may also have a colormanagement option it should match the monitors. good luck

Black printing very faint or not at all, cleaning print head makes little difference Brand new Cartridge

Sometimes it will print faint black even if there is a new black cartridge, because the color cartridge needs to be replaced as well.

Make sure that the cartridges are genuine Kodak cartridges, as well, for maximum performance and reliability.

Cleaning heads can use up a lot of ink, by the way.

Black print is faded with new cartridge. Both cartridges have been newly replaced, colour is ok but black is very faint. Any help appreciated.

try to re check black cartridge or replace new one, some factory problem occurred. also run self test to check that printing problem is with printer or from you cpu settings.

Faint print

Check the print driver settings, this may need to be changed.
Also clean the cartridge nozzle with damp paper towel - should work.
You can service the device in the driver properties.

Replaced toner cartridge - print is very faint

You have to wiggle the toner cassette gently back and forth in a horizontal position like ten cycles before installing the cartridge in the printer. Otherwise the toner will not feed properly.

Also make sure to clean the scanner window and clean the corona wire at every toner change to prevent problems, check out the instruction manual on how to do this.

Good luck!

OfficeJet G85 Makes Unreadable Copies

Usually, it's the print cartridge. I recently installed a new black cartridge on a 6110 printer and it, too, was very faint in printing. It turned out to be "dried up", even though it was a new cartridge in a sealed bag (but purchased in 2005).

Printer Prints Blue Test Page but not in black

Your color cartridge is probably empty as well. you can go to>control panel>printers and faxes> your printer >right click on preferences then click on services. Do all of the maintenance possible on your cartridges and see if that helps. Are your cartridges HP cartridges or generic refills?
