I have to click the back arrow and click the refresh button to get back to the site I was on.
We have to computers that have windows xp. We have an older D-link router. Is that the problem?

    Thanks for your help. I think I need a new router. The one we have is probably 8 -10 years old.

Check the privacy settings and see if they are too strict this will cause some sites to not download. In Internet Explorer click tools>Intenet options>privacy. It should be set to medium so no cookies are blocked. If this is ok then yes you are having hardware connectivity problems. You're losing the connection before it can reach the site.

    yea 8-10 years old..technology has changed just a bit since then...it probably doesn't even recognize DHCP..that could be the solution right there..what does your Internet Service Provider say about it..

Method 1: Run the Network Diagnostics tool in Internet Explorer
1. Start Internet Explorer, and then try to access the Web page that is displaying the error message.
2. On the page that displays an Internet Explorer error message, click the Diagnose Connection Problems link. The Network Diagnostics tool will run. When the tool has finished running, it will report one of the following results:

Facebook upgrade their websites. It recommend Internet Explorer 8 when browsing in facebook websites. Just download this internet explorer and there would be not conflict with the other internet explorer you are using. Do not install download the toolbars.

I should solve your problem.

You might be having a DNS problem. DNS (Domain name system) is responsible for changing the website name to the address (where the website is stored). You can try openDNS (www.opendns.com) The site can be confusing so here are the instructions. 1. Go to control panel > network connections 2. Choose the connection that gives you internet, right click on it and Click properties 3. Now select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click properties 4. Check the box that says "Use the following DNS addresses" 5. Enter the following values (addresses) 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220

Normally this happens when customer Ie files are corrupted or Temp files are causing the problem..

Go to Control Panel\Network and Internet\internet option
Please try below steps it should fix the issue--:

Clear cached data in Internet Explorer 7 loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); To determine whether a performance issue or an error message is caused by corruption in the temporary Internet files or in other cached information that is used by Internet Explorer 7, you must clear cached data. To do this, follow these steps:

  3. In Delete Browsing History, click Delete All.
  4. Click to select the Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons check box, and then click OK

How do you fix the internet explorer


You do not say which version of Windows you are using or the version of Internet Explorer so here is a general idea to fix.
