If once you install the new color wheel the colors on your screen are reversed all that has to be done is pull out the TINY rubber looking thing with 2 pins in it under the yellow/white sticker, not 1 inch or 3/4 inch under the sticker. Right below the sticker where that rectangular opening is.
These models usually suffer from a bad color wheel. You will know that the color wheel is at fault if the sounds goes away right when the lamp shuts off. Look at the back of the set and watch for the lamp to shut down. The color wheel is not a consumer replaceable item.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it is not something that has a quick fix. Without inspecting it myself it is impossible to say, but the last three of these that I have seen have been bad digital boards and can be a real bear to change, even when you have experience.
I would get slightly different video symptoms when I would switch between the coaxial input to the component input to the HDMI input. But in all cases my on screen display and menu were anomally free. Hope this was helpful, even though I don't think it is something you should attack yourself.
