Why does my Macbook Pro freeze?

When does it freeze exactly? When you are running an app or is it a sleep/awake failure?

Without knowing this, I will suggest the following:
Start by making sure you have the latest software updates. After that, go into your Applications, then Utilities and click on Disc Utility
Click on your drive then click on Repair Disk Permissions.

I hope this helps stop the freezing.

My Apple MacBook Pro 2011's internet turns off by itself and doesn't turn on until restart

It could be a problem with your modem rather than your computer. Next time the internet goes out try unplugging the modem and leaving it for 30 seconds then restarting it. If the internet comes back on then the modem is the problem, if not then the wireless card is the issue and you should take it an apple store/genius bar.

My Mac was connecting to wireless fine and now won't connect?

Try rebooting your network, which would involve powering off, powering on your cable or DSL modem, and your router. This should refresh your networked devices with a new set of IP addresses. Usually, when you can't connect to your wireless network, it's due to an IP address conflict.

IBook G3 Mac Notebook..can't get online, enternal modem is idle?

Ethernet is the big phone looking connection for the network. It also has a dial up modem installed. It doesnt sound like you have a wireless card in it. You may have to buy one and have it installed to get on the net.

Macbook and I-touch loses wireless connection with versalink dsl

It sounds like the dsl modem and the gateway should be sync'd in the following way:
1. Turn everything off and disconnect the dsl for a bit. Make sure even the wifi stuff is off.
2. Turn on your gateway and let it cyce up.
3. Plug the dsl ethernet cable into your gateway, and to your phone line, then plug in the power to the dsl.
This will cause the dsl modem to "find" the gateway IP address and connect.
4. Turn everything else back on.
This should eliminate all the drops...
Let me knowhow it goes...

I bought my daughter a laptop (elonex onet) but i dont no how to put internet on it thanks ceri

You have this in the Mac Laptops category, but it's not a Mac. This laptop is running Linux.

The Elonex ONEt has wireless Internet connectivity. That means you can use a wireless router in your home in order to use it online. If you already have one, the system should be able to set itself up to use that connection on its own when you open a web browser. The web browser on your system is BonEcho/Firefox.

Another option is to run a Cat5e, also called an Ethernet cable, line from a router (or from your cable modem or DSL modem) directly to the laptop, since your laptop also has an ethernet port. This looks like a regular phone jack, but it's a little bigger.

Best of luck!

Sleep mode doesn't work

some program might be getting in the way. Are you sure that you aren't running insomniax or another program that might hinder the sleep? Some other programs, like file sharing applications, might do the same as well.

i'd also remove all peripherals, such as mice, which can keep a book awake.

as a fun test, get a refrigerator magnet and move it back and forth over the right side of the keyboard. This should activate the sleep function. you don't need a really powerful magnet but you may need to move it slow and have it close to the computer body. Here's a picture. and Here is a link to a forum thread about it.

If the magnet came undone and moved, it would cause this and would be easy to fix. Just pop the LCD back off, close the lid and move the magnet to a location that causes the book to sleep, then tape it there and close it back up. This is frequent after LCD replacements.

I can't use high speed internet

Can you be more specific as to why you cannot use DSL? your computer is equipped an ethernet port which IS the high speed port. Have you troubleshot the router? have you made sure you ethernet cable is rated CAT5 or higher? Have you called your Network provider? You can verify and active connection by plugging in the network cable and going into your NETWORK PREFERENCES.

Keep me posted.
