When starting, windows insignia comes up but fails to proceed any farther. The only thing on the screen is the pointing cursor.

Contact the computer manufacturer. Once they verify system model & serial # on the phone they usually will send a replacement recovery cd at little or no charge. Hope this helps & please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

What do I need to activate wireless on insignia D400a through broadband?

To use Wifi on a D400 series PC, you would need to purchase a wifi PCI card (Do not get any PCIe or PCI2 or newer card specs) or wifi USB adapter.

Since standard PCI is consider mostly obsolete, they can be found fairly cheak, usually under $10 usd on places like Amazon.

Your best bet is to add more RAM. You need more than 512mb for video encoding and recording. The more the better! A really good site for finding out what you need is www.crucial.com

It has crashed , and i need to do a system restart, all i get is a command prompt, can you help me ?

Try to restore your machine first to an earlier time by doing system restore on safe mode if you cant log in to the normal windows.

1. After restart keep pressing F8 or keep tapping F8 until Advance Boot Menu appear
2. Use arrow key to navigate then choose Safe Mode
3. Click Start button then choose All Programs
4. Click Accessories then choose System Tools
5. Click System Restore then follow the intruction on the window.

Your computer will automatically restart when system restore is finish

If this doesnt work then you need a Windows CD to reinstall you Windows again.

Hope This ill be helpful. Than you for using Fixya.

Need restore dvd for insignia d400a

You can buy it from DELL. They will send it to you for between $20 to $40. Sounds like you have spyware though.

Turn the system restore off. System restore keeps everything in restore. Meaning......... If you have spyware or a virus, it will stay in your system. Run Spybot S&D (This program is free and is better than using msconfig as long as you go through the settings and change everything to the highest settings.) Then do the same with Adaware 2008 (sounds stupid to use 2 things for spyware, but one catches what the other one does not.). I have links on my website (tandnfamilyelectronics-online.com). These links go directly to the download so you will not get the run around. You would do good to try a program called Window Washer. This is a great program that completely cleans anything in your computer that you do not need. It will not clean out anything that you have to have. I have used this for years to clean out my customers computers and have cleaned as much as 3 gigs of trash out. If you contact me I will give you some tools that I have for free that will do a great job on your computer. I have them ready to download and I will give you the link. Insignia D400, new Radeon 9250, Sony DDU 1613 not working

you need windows professional or vista the reason the game runs slow is you need at least 1 gig of ram as the operating system takes 256mb to run this is why the game recomends 2.0 ghz cpu or higher 1gig of ram or higher the graphic card recomended NVidia Geforce 512mb xfx series with pixal shading and dx 9c compatable. clean the dvd lens with a dvd lens cleaner. the motherboard maybe the cause to the iso-13346 specification as the game is designed on intel and amd processors. hope this will give you help

Getting the Restore DVD to install

Sounds like you want to start a fresh install from your CD/DVD? as soon as you turn on the computer, hit the del key to get into the BIOS (or pay attention during POST as it'll tell you what key to push) Once in there, you'll want to goto the "boot options" tab and set the CD/DVD-ROM to start up first and then the hard drive. Press Esc and save, as it starts up, it should say "hit any key to install windows" and then it's just a matter of following instructions to finish. If all you are trying to do is a system restore, you can goto: Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore and then restore it to a earlier time.
