Can't get any sound from left speaker. I purchased new speakers but get the same result. I have tried many different drivers and have checked the balance in left and right speakers, still no luck.

I have a problem with my sound driver.

First, go into the "properties" of the driver -
Once the dialogue box opens, the lower part (in the top left corner) it will either say, " This is working properly". Or will give a message of wether the driver is out of date, not installed, or there is an error. If it says "this is working properly", than there may be a problem with the external speakers if equipped. If you are using external speakers with USB port plug n' play - unplug the units, uninstall any drivers that were automatically uploaded, and simply plug the speaker back in. If this does not make a difference, try "rolling back" the driver in the dialogue box when viewing the driver "properties".
In any case of an error, or message of "not installed" it is best to first locate the driver for which I can be downloaded, and installed.
Next, once you have retreived it (on disc, etc) and are able to install/download the driver (update usually can do this if the option is available in the dialogue box), un-intall the driver - then proceed to install the new driver.
Please let me know if you need furthera assistance.

My computer is vista but upgraded to windows seven and the built in sound card does not seem to work i have tried different devices and updating the drivers i even changed the sound card none of them seem...

if even the Windows 7 driver for the sound card did not fix it, try to uninstall the audio driver, then let Windows try to detect and install a native driver if available. Then click START, type services.msc in the Search box, then click Services.msc from the results. From there, look for the Windows Audio service, double-click it and make sure the Startup Type is set to Automatic and click the Start button. Restart the computer, open the audio properties, make sure the correct Playback device is selected. If you are using internal speakers for a laptop or external speakers for desktops, select Speakers/Headphones, click Set Default. Then test the audio of your system. Hope this helps.

I have a crackling speaker on the left port of the bass box

The crackling sound on the left port of the bass box, indicates vibrating foreign matters inside it. Just open the box and clear it up. Put the sounds on. Listen if the crackling sound is audible. If the result is ok, then, close the box, and everything is alright..
However, if the result is otherwise, then, it is due to a defective speaker that needs to be replaced.

Speakers wont work without installation cd

Left click on the start button and right click on My Computer.
Left click on Properties.
Left click on the Hardware tab and select Device Manager
You should have at least one device that says unknown..
If so, you will need to locate and install the correct sound drivers.
If the sound card came with your PC and it is a name brand like IBM or Dell, you should be able to find the drivers on their web site.

5.1 speakers dont work right on sound blaster card

Most music does not put out sound from the rear speakers. Test it with a DVD, most of them use the rear speakers for some sound effects.

Sound is nt coming from speakers?

Do you have two sound cards in your computer now or have you removed or disabled the old sond card?

FYI, looks like in the media player you havent selected the right sound output.

Try this,
1. In Windows Media Payer, Menu bar-> Tools -> Plug-ins -> Options.

2. Go to Device tab and click on Speakers ad the click Proprties button below.

3. Click Advanced

4. Select your new hadrware.(Creative Aspire 5.1)

5. Click Set as default.

6. Click OK, OK OK...

Then restart Windos media player and try again.

-------------
Another thought, make sure you have pluged the jacks right and you speakers are working right.

Good Luck!!!

Only hearing sound out of left side of headphones

i think the problem is in the jack of your sound blaster. since you have already tried different headphones and the problem still persist, and when you use speakers it works fine. i conclude it is the jack of your sound blaster card.

Computer Sound Sporadically Cuts Out

i would advise trying the sound card in a different computer. it may not be possible for you, but maybe you have a friend that will let you try it on their computer. also, can you make the problem come and go by wiggling the connection? on my computer i have to have the wire just right or i lose the left speaker. i think you can solve this without having to reformat. what about headphones? do they work when plugged into the headphone jack?

first thing is to try different speakers of course. if they work then you know your speakers went poof! if they do not work then it could be your soundcard (hardware) of drivers (software). if so, try to run dxdiag from the run menu (sorry this if your using microsoft based os). then go to the sound tab. you'll see a slider with a caption "Hardware acceleration". try sliding this all the way to the left: that is "No acceleration". restart and check if it works... btw, let the forum know what typoe of sound card youve got. you can also find this info on that same "sound" tab in dxdiag. if it works without, hardware acceleration. you can either leave it this way as a last resort or try the following:. get your sound driver disk, reinstall your soun drivers and then reinstall the latest available version of directx. restart and try out the sound.
