Still can not locate a part number.
Unplug the range.
Take the element out and take it to an applince parts store. They will match it up with the correct element.

How do I replace the bottom element of my GE oven?

Hundreds of GE ovens, so can't give procedure, but problem is not necessarily the element - could be switch, connection to element, etc. Google GE (model #) lower element not heating.

I have GE model#JKP45WOP2WG double oven wall unit. Lower oven isn't heating up properly. Bottom of lower oven doesn't seem as hot as the top of the oven... replaced oven sensor, not

Most double wall ovens are technically two separate oven boxes. The lower oven box has its bake, boil elements, high limit thermostat and ofcourse its own oven sensor. If the lower oven box boil is working good and less heat on bake feature may suggest that the bake element is burned out and only getting preheated with boil element. Just a suggestion here

I need to replace the lower heating element in my older model oven. I think the serial number is 316071601. How do I remove the old element? I am clueless at repair but this should be relatively easy to do...

YES IT IS EASY BUT UNPLUG IT FIRST. REMOVE THE SCREWS FROM THE BACK WALL ABOVE THE ELEMENT AND SLOWLY PULL THE WIRES WITH THE ELEMENT THROUGH THE WALL ABOUT A INCH AND DISCONECT THEM FROM THE ELEMENT

Heating element is broken - lower (baking) element. What part do I need and is this user-serviceable?

With the model number you can order a new element from repairclinic.com

You can remove it by pulling the oven out from the wall, unplugging it, removing the rear panel, and then disconnecting the element and swapping it out. Fairly simple for anyone with patience.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Lower oven element doesnt work

You can usually tell when the element itself burns out. It might have small holes or bubbles on the coil. Replace the element, if found defective.

It will , also, show no continuity when measured with a meter as well.

Electric Oven doen't heat

cdkd, there should be a TC0, on the back of the oven. Thermal cut out. You want to check to see if it is open. You will have to pull the oven out enough that you can remove the back panel cover and check it. The lower and upper oven should have one. It's a very cheap part to replace. If this TCO fails, no heat. Check this first before buying a new board. Catriver..post back.
