Not a easy task, the bearing are easy to damage . try looking for your local pool pump motor repair shop (your zip code) cost should be around 85.00 with a new shaft seal (a must !)

When I changed Pentair Whiperflo motor with new Impeller & Diffuser seals the new motor shaft does not turn. Diffuser is pressing against Impellor not allowing it to rotate. What is wrong ?

Take the Diffuser off and run it if the impeller turns then might be tightening the Diffuser too much, it just needs to not move, doesnt really need a super waterproof seal or anything like that. If it still doesnt turn with the Diffuser off it might have locked up when replacing the Impeller, you can try to turn the impeller manually or remove the cover plate on the back of the moter and turn the shaft manually back there. OOoorr you broke it

Bearings for electric motor

replacing bearings can be tricky, but if you are willing to try most of these motors use 6203 2rs c3 bearings all for the back bearing, the front could be 3 different sizes. after removing them bring the rotor to your local pool pump motor repair shop, and have them remove and replace. about $20.

My pump has a high pitched whine. Are there likely bearings out?

Yes...as the motor bearings wear they will get louder and louder. A common cause for bearing failure is a leaking seal. If you have any signs of a water leak or if the pump seal is more than a few years old you'll want to replace that when you get the bearings.

If you are handy and understand bearing replacement you can get the parts for less than $20. If not, a typical repair at an electric motor repair shop for something like this is ~$80 if all it needs is bearings to get it going again.

I have a Whiperflo 3hp pool pump. The water

There are a couple things that you will need to check when pool pumps start losing pressure. Air bubbles are definitely one step, but check these things as well. Check you impeller to see if there is a clog or obstruction. You pump strainer could also be clogged. It could be that your o-ring needs to be replaced also. Try these things, reprime the pump, and see if it maintains pressure.

Motor is very noisy

Noisy motor indicates bearings on the shaft are going bad. This happens when you have a shaft seal leak and the leaking water is getting to the bearings. Sounds like you need to replace shaft seal and set of shaft bearings. Easy fix is to replace the motor only for about $150.00 for motor replacement. Around $40.00 for seal and bearings and some of your time.
