Our Maytag Centennial Electric dryer is not cycling in auto dry mode but will in timer mode. Any thoughts?

There is a sensor that the clothes have to touch when the drum spins. This sensor measures how wet the clothes are. If you don't have enough of a load in the dryer then the sensor wont detect the dryness. Or it could be a bad sensor or connection or main board.

The short wire to the element keeps burning through on my maytag ensignia 200 dryer.

make sure your using a heat compatible connector when replacing ,, the ones you get for automotive work just can't handle the heat range in a dryer, also, check the element itself for any weak spots or charred sections,

Wont heat

First make sure both of the breaker switches for the dryer are on at your electrical service panel. There are two, both together, usually, sometimes they are connected together, sometimes they aren't. If one is flipped, the dryer will run but not heat. Secondly, unplug and plug the power cord for the dryer to make sure the connection isn't loose. If none of that works, unplug the dryer and take the top off. That usually requires removing a few screws and popping the top off. There is often a single ground wire that runs to a connector screwed directly to the top of the housing over the drum. If that wire is okay I would either call a professional repairman, or obtain a repair manual for the dryer, as there is either a heating element that is bad or a switch.

Sqeaking dryer

Find a heat resistant grease. It must say heat resistant. Then you will need snap ring pliers. The rollers are behind the drum, the whole machine must be taken apart, no fun. While apart, vacuum everything. Note how the belt goes before you take it off. A few extra screws while you're in there will expose the fan area. You will be suprised what you can find there.

LD 8410 MAYTAG DRYER .... DRUM TURNS .... NO HEAT......HOW DO I TAKE OFF THE BACK

  • before taking it apart, if it is an electric dryer, then check the circuit breaker in the house. sometimes only one side of the dual breaker will trip leaving you with a running dryer with no heat.

  • maytag dryers are accessed from the front. look for 2 screws on the front panel near or at the bottom. these hold the front panel on.

MAYTAG PYE2300AYW ELECTRIC DRYER not heating

Check the terminal block and make sure you're getting 220. If you only get 110, the dryer will run but without heat.
