Aftermarket Icemaker bagan working sporatically and now has ceased ice production altogether.
I have checked the water lines they are clear with good flow.
If I MANUALLY fill the icemaker - with a turkey baster and fresh water,
it produces and ejects cubes into the tray perfectly - in 30 minutes.
What do I check next?

Make sure water line valve is turned on where it taps in to water line, and that ice shut off is down not up, check to see if water is in ice tray or if it is dry if no water or ice is present then water is not getting to it if water tap valve is open then water valve in ice maker is off or ice shut off arm is up instead of down. Try pouring warm water in ice tray see if that will get it started.
It will only call for water when the thermostat is satisfied. Now if you advance the icemaker when the ejector blade reaches 10 oclock thats when it should call for water. If you dont here the valve humming then it would be in the water switch inside the icemaker. Also make sure the thermostat is not set too cold. if its too cold it will never satisfy your control.
Manually advance : remove the cover on icemaker then turn the small gear counter clockwise
You can have a couple of things causing this. First do you see flakes in the ice cubes? Yes replace the icemaker. No then I would remove the cover off the icemaker (pry on the corners and pull) Check to see if the motor gears is rusty. If yes then its causing the motor to run slow and overfillilg the icemaker. You can also check to make sure the fill tube is pointing downward in the water cup of the icemaker. If that looks goo then it cold be the matter of replaceing the faceplate of the icemaker. That would replace the switch, motor and gears.
You can try to advance the icemaker and when the ejector blade gets to 10 oclock it should call for water. If the coil on the watervalve is working you should hear vibrating. If not then it could be the water switch in the head of the icemaker. Or you can ohm out the valve(coil) to see if its open.Try that first it could still be that the thermostat isnt being satisfied.
THERE IS A SOLONIOD VALVE WHERE YOU CONNECT THE WATER SUPPLY. IN IT IS A FINE SCREEN THAT MAY BE STOPPED UP OR THE VALVE MAY BE BAD. ALSO TAKE THE COVER OFF THE ICEMAKER AND LOOK FOR A CAME WITH A SLOT IN IT. TAKE A SCREWDRIVER AND SLOWELY TURN TO THE RIGHT ( I THINK) AND SEE IF YOU HEAR THE VALVE COME ON AND WATER COMING INTO THE ICEMAKER.
