Problems hooking up dvd player to Dynex 22"

I cannot seem to get my dvd player to work with my Dynix tv. I have the cables plugged in, but I keep getting a 'No Signal' message on the screen. Has anyone else had problems. Maybe my dvd player is not compatible?

I had a similar problem hooking up my Xbox, which uses just a box, then lets you use your own cables the rest of the way to the TV. At first I tried cheap thinner cables, and I got no signal. But I had some nice thick gold-plated sheilded AV cables (they're the Red Yellow and White kind, but if you put the same color with the same color they are the same thing, don't waste your money on Monster cables, cause audio signal isn't as picky) and it worked great. So my only suggestion is check the kind of cables your using. Length also makes a difference, if your player is right near your TV don't get cables over 2'.

Some of the newer TV's dont turn on if there is no input signal. Try a DVD player and see if that works. If it does, then the issue is most likely with the cable jack on the TV, which may need to be replaced..

yellow is video and red and white are audio you a get by with one audio. i think you are missing your video cable you can get by with two cables just use the white cable as a yellow and plug it into the yellow dvd plug and tv yellow plug and the red will stay hooked up for sound ( you wont have stereo but it should work)

The input dvd screen says no signal and the DVD player doesn't seem to have any power.

If it is in warranty return it---parts for the DVD unit are not available--they would have to replace the entire DVD unit inside the set.

The disc is stuck in the player and the tv screen says it cannot get a signal.

Barbara, your dvd player needs to be either on channel 3 or 4. If you have a local channel 3 or 4 switch it to the one that is not local. Or it could be a video 1,2 or 3. Just keep using the remote in that format and you will find the signal.

I have a 32" LCD TV that I can't seem to get any of my DVD players to work on. Keep getting error message "no video signal" but They use to work. help

How do you have your DVD player hooked up to your TV(i.e. composite, s-video, component)? Some DVD payers and TVs have menus to switch inputs and if you somehow switched off the input your players are connected to, you'll get a "no signal" message.  First try hitting the input button on your TV or the Input/connection option in your TV's menu.  If that doesn't work try hooking up the DVD player(s) with the composite Cable(yellow), the component(red, green, blue) and S-Video(black/round) at the same time. If you scroll through your TV's inputs you should get a picture on one of these connections and the TV should display which one. The display will usually be in the corner of the screen.
