My 2006 Dodge Dakota windshield washer fluid does not spray. I checked the washer pump and it works. The fuses are all good. And the wipers work. When I press the windshield washer button inside the truck no water squirts out. Took truck to dealership and they said might need a new computer module. They reprogrammed the one on the truck and still no fluid comes out to windshield. What could be the problem and solution.

If the pump works, something should be flowing thru the hose to the spray nozzles.
And if the pump works, everything electrical is working.
How do you know the pump works ?

  • williamsa43 May 18, 2014

remove the hose at the nozzle if it squirts the nozzles R plugged up. use straight pin to un-plug

Having windshield wiper/washer problems? Here are some more common problems.

  • Motor:
The wiper motor is commonly replaced and was often not the problem. Don't replace the motor yet. maybe it's not the motor. It could be a fuse or something at the wiper switch. The wiper motor has two windings, fast and slow. The wiper switch sends a ground signal to each motor winding. More often, there are problems with the relay, or at the wiper switch, or in the cable to the motor.
  • Windshield Washer:
Don't be too quick to replace the washer pump. The problem is often just a clog in the sprayer heads. You can clean out the sprayer holes with a needle, some have two holes, so look closely. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Windshield wipers stopped working on

If the fuses are OK, then two choice to check there:
* Faulty Wiper Motor.
Check if activated switch, you have voltage in the wires wiper motor; if have voltage, then the motor is bad. If dont have voltage, then switch is bad.

* Faulty Wiper Switch.
The multi-function switch cannot be adjusted or repaired. If any function of the switch is faulty, or if the switch is damaged, the entire switch unit must be replaced.

Hope helps; keep us updated.

SOURCE: Why won't the windshield washer motor and fluid pump work on my 2005 Magnum SE? Turn signals work fine, but no washers. #18 fuse is good, too. Please help

could be the washer motor. have someone hit the switch while you listen at the pump to see if it is making noise. also check to see if you have voltage at pump. it could be stuck or corroded.

The problem is likely your FCM which is a module that is attached to the
front of your fuse box . Go here for more info http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/dodge-grand-caravan/TFGKS9O3LLH1ABOBM

2006 Malibu maxx front or back washer pumps will not work. pulled both pumps out and made sure both work. I have pulled all fuses, relays out replace them all. Both pumps work off Separate switches.

Replacing parts just to replace them wont fix a bad wire or part. Better to use a voltmeter and ohn meter to check if your getting power to the wires. You may have a bad connection or bad switch on the column for the pumps. Without checking the circuits it will behard to tell what it is thats wrong. Find a wiring diagram and trace the wires and components.

My windshield wiper motor works, but washer does not work/

I would start by checking fuses. If you've checked already, then the windshield washer pump has probably gone bad. The wiper motor and washer pump should be separate units. Typically the washer pump is located in the base of the washer fluid reservoir.

Windshield washer not working

  1. check your windshield washer fluid level.
  2. make sure you can hear the fluid pump operating when you operate the switch.
  3. If you can hear the pump working and you have fluid in the reservoir but still no spray,
  4. check the washer fluid lines don't have holes and aren't clogged or pinched. check the sprayer nozzles make sure they are not clogged with debris.
  5. if your washer still doesn't work your fluid pump is probably the problem.

Windshield washer pump fpr a 2006 chevy impala is there a fuse that could be bad ?

Yes, you could check for a fuse burnt out, but generally if the windshield washer pump doesn't buzz or turn so you can hear it, it means that in this weather, it is frozen up or burnt out. Usually it's just frozen with summer formulatioin of windshield wiper fluid which freezes at 32 deg. F.

Try to warm up the car in a heated garage to see if the windshield wiper fluid becomes unfrozen.

And, try to flush out the old fluid when you get it the pump free of ice, and install -20 deg. F or better wiper fluid.

Good luck on this repair.

Rear windshield washer works but front does not....Any suggestions? Washer fluid is full, fuses are good, wipers work but no fluid or sound of pump running when lever is used to spray fluid on front...

Probably need to replace the pump. Separate pumps for front and rear. Check with a test light to see if there is power to the pump. If it has power but won't work, replace the pump. If no power, you have a wiring issue. Be sure to turn the switch on and have someone push the washer button when you are checking for power. There won't be any until you push it to "wash".

Windshield washer fluid not coming up at front, just at the rear

Check the hoses running to the front windshield washer nozzles. If the hoses are good check the pump to see if it is working correctly. Remove one of the hoses from the spray nozzle and see if the pump is working. If it is then the spay nozzles are stopped up. Use a needle to clean them out. They can easily get plugged with wax. If the pump is not working then either the fuse is blown or the pump is defective.

Windshield wiper fluid wont come out..

It does not take very much dirt in the washer fluid reservoir to plug the nozzles for the windshield washers. check for dirt in the reservoir and clean out if need be. If you are in below freezing temperatures make sure your washer fluid is good for below freezing. mike
