You need to do is shade the eyes some how for th door to work. What I did was remove them and put them up by the opener so the sun does not get to them.

No. The sensor is infrared so sunlight shouldn't affect it at all. The sensors are set up so they send a signal to each other, thus the need that they be carefully aligned. They work fine here in the California bright sun where it streams through my open door most of the day.
I have been having almost the same problem. My up limit setting is changing. I intend to replace the limit switch assembly. I know of nothing else that can cause this problem.
Hello,
I am not a expert on doors but have ran into a simular problem with my door. Hope this will help.
-Mine would not go down during the day due to sunlight hitting the trip sensors, Take the cardboard tube from a roll of toliet paper and put it over the sensor that is getting sunlight (just a cheap shade).
-Also if you can hold down the door switch inside the garage and the door goes down it is a sensor problem
As I stated before I am not a expert on doors, so please don't give me a bad review I am just sharing what worked for me.
make sure the sensors are properly aligned. disconnect the opener with the saftey release and operate the door manually. be sure the door opens and closes reasonably easy by hand. If not, check for binding or broken springs or torsion springs
WOW I NEED TO RAISE MY RATES!!
I DON'T KNOW THE RAYNOR PRODUCT. HOWEVER, WITH MOST OTHER BRANDS THE PROBLEM YOU DESCRIBE CAN BE SOLVED BY SWAPING THE POSITION OF THE SENDING RECIEVING EYES THUS GETTING THE ONE THAT IS BEING AFFECTED IN THE SHADE
HOPE THIS HELPS
This is cause when there is something blocking one of the sensors. Look on each side of your garage door near the concrete when the door is closed and you will see small sensors that are facing each other.. Make sure they are not misaligned and that nothing is in front of them.
Very helpfull. Will try it as soon as posible. Thank you
