Well you can try going to start - my computer - properties - hardware - device manager , and checking to see if your sound driver is installed properly, or you can try re-installing the sound driver to see if everything works, or check to see if your speakers are connected on the right port, on your motherboard sound card.

TV station 29-2 is not selectable on my HP IQ770

To solve the problem, Microsoft will have to update Windows VISA Media Player to scan for Digital TV Sub-channels. This may not happen now that Windows 7 is about to be released.

My hp pavilion a305w will not let me play dvds

First of all you'll need a DVD-Rom Player. If you go to my computer and you see the drives you have. Drive C and

DVD-Rom station or CD-rom Station.
If it's not listed you don't have a DVD-rom player and you can never play dvd's unless you work with images and image drive software like daemon tools or alcohol 120%.

If you do have a DVD-rom player you can play dvd's with Cyberlink Powerdvd or BS-player. Even with Windows Media Player.

It depends on the operating system you have.

Hope this was helpfull. If questions i am happy to answer.

It sounds like the problem can only be either the card or the antenna. the Media player only plays the received signal from the card. perhaps, the antenna position is too low or surrounded by metal and not able to get a good enough signal.
