Wecome to the club. Apparently, Sony had produced a run of faulty CCD Image Sensors from 2002 to 2004. This affected cameras and camcorders from 2002 till who knows when.

A "service advisory" in October 2005 had Sony replacing the bad sensors for free only up until October of 2007. No notice was sent to the buyers. I know, I never got the notice.

This also affected other manufacturers since most bought their sensors from Sony. The other companies had their own form of service agreement.

The symptoms are: no image viewed thru the viewfinder or on the LCD screen. You should still be able to see and work the controls on the LCD screen and you should still be able to play back previous recordings.

The cost to replace the CCD Image Sensor by Sony is about $160 + shipping. I've seen used working HC20's on EBAY for about $120. The non-working ones are going for about $15.

In my opinion this should have been an Official Recall.

If you can still work the controls from the LCD screen and see images from previous recorded tapes, but NOT see any current image thru either the LCD screen or thru the viewfinder then its a faulty CCD Image Sensor. Sony had a bad production run of the sensor chip from 2002 to 2004 affecting products from 2002 till who knows when. This affected other camera manufacturers too since they bought their sensors from Sony. A Sony "service advisory" in October 2005 would fix for "free" anybody coming forward with the problem. This freebie ended in October 2007. Mine went just last month. Cost to fix by Sony...$160 + shipping. There are quite a few non-working handycams on EBAY for an average of $15. Seems to me this was big enough to be an Official Recall.

Camera turns "on", can read menus, etc, but, there is no image on LCD screen?

On page 8 of the basic operate manual you see the backside of the camera and there you find the display button. Try pressing that one several times, while in recording mode.

Sony Handycam CCD-TRV37 8mm Analog... 2 Problems, maybe more unknown at this time:

This does require disassembly to remedy the problem. There are various possible fixes. The most prevelant I have seen is cold solder connections of the board connector for the fpc cable from the top operation switch block ass'y. All you need is someone who can handle this task, like a professional. The controls that you are experiencing problems with are all linked with one cable and connector. One bad solder joint can cause serveral operation faults. Good Luck, magic seadog

Black screen but i didnt hear any beeps

Dear frnd,
its looks like Operating system problem. some times its happens that you power on and its display nothing except a black screen. you need to re-install the os but before it you have to confirm that your display screen is working. for that check the display in dark place so that when you power on its screen going to slightly white if its happens than its screen is ok if its doesn't than you have to change display screen cable inside of the laptop.

I just turned on my ps3 and it was zoomed in really far and no matter what i did, display settings or video setting nothing fixed it.

it must be your tv settings. as far as i know, the ps3 wont do that. if it did i wouldn't think there is an easy fix. on your tv remote is there a button that you can change the display setting? say, from full screen to zoom? usually named "wide" "view" "theater" if so then you need to make sure its set to full screen mode. keep changing the display option and you should see a better picture. if there isn't a button, go into the menu settings, the picture or display settings and change it there.
hope that helps

Iphone home screen zoom in

This happens when you accidentally put the iphone in zoom mode, which is one of the "accessibility" features under the "settings" icon. Most likely the user accidentally "double tapped" the screen with three fingers. This is what launches zoom mode. To change the zoom, double tap the screen with three fingers and drag the three fingers down or up the screen. To avoid this recurring, you can go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Zoom. Then set the Zoom feature to "off".

Batteries wear out quickly -- after 6 - 10 photos. I've tried a variety of brands and quality - both rechargeable and non-rechargeable.

Hi there Jeroldine.

Battery drain the one of the top things that make people upset over cameras. It siits number one over lens errors. The only thing I can say is that your LCD screen is the culprit. The LCD screen is a vampire that sucks batteries quicker than zooming the lens. There is nothing that you can do about it. The amps that a camera uses during normal operation is pretty severe.
You can do some things to help lessen the impact on your batteries.
First. Turn off your LCD screen. Use the viewfinder to sight in all your shots. You can save up to 75 percent of your battery life if you turn it off and use the viewfinder. Second is...zoom less. What usually happens is, you start to take a shot, and you want to get closer, so you so you zoom in. Then you might decide that maybe you have zoomed too much. Then you wind up zooming back out. - Instead, try and get closer to your subject if you can.
There is no magic fix for battery drain. Just remember that everytime you perform a function on your camera, you drain the battery. Hope this helps.

Display problem

Yes, the "PIP" is the display of multiple channels at one time. On your remote you need to go to the zoom pip button and press it, if nothing go to the meno then look up the "PIP" tab and go there to try to zoom out.

Olympus D-535 Zoom camera

Look in the card slot in the side or around the edges of the opening to see if you can find a switch or little button or anything that could be stuck or broken. This is the sensor that tells the camera when it's open or not.
