I dropped my dvd remote and now it won't work

need to know the model of the DVD player and remote to be able to further assist you...but a quick google search with that model # and the phrases "program codes" and "how to" should quickly bring up a how to article or manual for the dvd player with reprogramming instructions.

Remote stopped functioning for dvd\vcr unit

When the remote control won't operate the DVD player recorder, check the batteries. Try replacing them and see if the remote works. If the batteries are fine, the code on the remote and the code on the DVD player recorder might not be the same. When aiming the remote at the unit a number will be displayed. To set the remote to the same number, which will be 1, 2, or 3, press down OK on the remote as the appropriate number at same time.

How do I open and close my dvd player using the remote control

This Model doesn't have an Eject Function on the Remote Control.

They work on the principal that if you're changing the DVD then you'll be by the Player anyway to use that Eject Button.

Remote RMT-D240A not working with RDR-VX525 DVD Player that it came with. Only get DVD Screen saying DVD 3, will not even turn ON/OFF.

You may have to reset the remote to the current command code. Here is the link for how to do that. http://community.sony.com/t5/Remote-Controls/RDR-VX525-Changed-to-DVD3-on-command-control-and-remote-won-t/td-p/158777

Need remote code for DVD player

From my searches I don't think you will find it. Try going to http://www.sony.ca/view/cic_contact.htm and asking them directly for it. I can't see them saying no.

Lost remote for DVD

It may or may not work. There's no way to program it unless it's a universal remote, and even then you'd need to find the codes. I'd put some batteries in and hit power... if it works it works. Universal remotes aren't expensive though. Pick one up if the old Sony won't work.

Remote

this is from your producer: Product Description ? BASIC OPERATION OK ? everyone knows what a handheld remote control unit does for your home electronics. You can control your basic four (4) components: TV, DVD player, VHS player, Cable or Satellite tuner. Setup is simple for these basic 4? put in the batteries, look up the manufacturer of your component (Mitsubishi TV) and note the possible 3-digit ?program codes?? turn on the component, press the remote control?s PROGRAM button until the light stays red, press the component button (i.e., TV), enter in the ?program code?, and press the ?power off button? ? if the component (i.e., TV) turns off: you are programmed! If the component (i.e., TV) doesn?t turn off, then repeat the sequence using another of the manufacturer?s program codes until it does. Easy ? took me about 3 minutes to program my old Zenith TV (in the bedroom), my SONY DVD player, and my Mitsubishi S-VHS player. No problems at all. HOWEVER, in case you do run into a component for which the ?program codes? don?t work? you can go through a sequence to self-identify the coding. While I won?t go into it here, it is only slightly more time consuming than the other method. As my codes worked fine, I can not address this aspect, so I won?t make a claim we didn?t test.
