Question about SanDisk 2GB Cruzer Micro SDCZ62048A10 Hard Drive

1 Answer

Very important pictures stored on my flash drive and my nephew broke the plastic casing and decided to pull out the insides. can it be saved. it was just your standard 1G drive. the "motherboard" inside doen't look to be damaged at all. Is there blank casings or can one be taken apart and the motherboard be installed on a different one? Need any help you can think of. Please.

If it was only casing then no problem happily you can plug into usb. If it is recognising the drive then your data is safe.

Thanks & Regrads

I have so many raw pictures that are saved in my LaCie Desktop Manager (external hard drive) and I really want to recover them but it won't let me see inside (it is now calls itself Local Disk (E:) )

Yes, don't worry! The dread "drive not formatted" error message generally indicates hard drive problems. It can occur for many different reasons including a virus infection, hard drive problem, power surge, or problems with the operating system, etc. If you receive this type of error message, it is important that you act carefully to keep your important data safe.
1. Do NOT click "yes" to format the hard drive in case that the formatting process makes things worse.
2. Do NOT attempt to write anything new on this hard drive in case of any data loss.
3. Download an unformatted hard drive data recovery freeware to restore all your inaccessible pictures back successfully:
In fact, this data recovery freeware helped a lot as the hard drive of my friend was mistakenly formatted. All his stored data on this drive was gone. But, fortunately, he found this freeware in a popular forum thread and tried it on his computer. It is really fantastic and finally restores all his wanted data back. That's why I recommend it to you. I believe it will also work perfectly on your drive.
Simply try to apply it here:
4. Save and back up all your restored data on a different hard drive in case of data recovery failure.
5. After the data recovery process, simply format this drive to see whether it can work functionally as before.
In the future, you should learn a lesson to be more careful about your data and always back it up well.

My pen drive got into water for about an an hour......

As flash drives are so small, they are easy to put in a pocket and forget about, which can lead to an inadvertent trip to the laundry.

Most flash drives will survive a trip through the washer, as they are usually well sealed and have no battery.

It is important not to use the drive if any moisture is present, but once dried the drive should still be useable with the original data intact.

All that is required to save a wet flash drive is a bowl of uncooked rice

Dry the flash drive as much as possible with a piece of paper towel to absorb excess moisture.

Gently pry open the case of the flash drive if possible, using a small flat-blade screwdriver to separate the two halves of the case.

This is not essential, but will cut the drying time and will help to limit corrosion.

Dry the inside of the case as much as possible with the paper towel.

Pour some uncooked rice into a small plastic bag, and then place the flash drive in the bag and seal.

Place the bag in a warm, dry place for at least 24-hours.

The rice draws out and absorbs any moisture present, speeding up the drying time and ensuring the drive is completely dry.

Check the drive after 24 hours. If you can see any moisture, leave the board for 24 hours and repeat until the board is completely dry.

Reassemble the case, ensuring the two halves are tight shut. Use a small spot of glue to hold the two halves together securely if necessary.

You can then use the flash drive as normal

hope this helps

Water Damage to USB Flash Drive

The problem is very bad. In my openion there is only one solution with this problem. all you need to do is to remove its plastic casing and then put your USB into thinner ( A liquid that can be found at paint stores). Then let it get dry for 5 to 6 hours. And you are done. now connect it to your pc and get your data. Don't forget to rate the solution. Thanks!

How do you send pictures to a flash drive. I have never used one.

You use a flash drive the same way you use a floppy disk. Basically, all you have to do is select the pictures that you want to store on the flash drive and either drag and drop them or save each one in the same manner as if it were a regular file....instead of selecting "floppy disk A" you will be selecting another drive on you machine.

I am looking for an external drive to save pictures

Hi jodybertram,

Digital photos take up differing amounts of disk space depending on their resolution. For instance, a small picture such as a logo from a website would take up substantially less space than a picture you would use for your desktop wallpaper. If you are looking to use your USB drive for photos, you may want to shop around in the store for memory cards first, as they commonly have a chart that translates storage capacity to the number of photos per resolution. This may help you decide which size flash drive to purchase.

Thank you,

My usb flashdisk become raw data

1). Do not format this hard drive before you've recovered all your stored data back. In your case, the formatting process may erase everything on your drive and make your data gone permanently.
2). Never save anything new on this drive in case that any new file would rewrite your original data.
3). Plunge this drive to your computer and download a RAW drive data recovery freeware to get back all your lost data back:
This hard drive has helped many people around me restore their inaccessible data back from a RAW drive or memory card. It can also work perfectly on your drive.
Read more detailed information of this freeware here:
4). Save and back up all your restored data on another drive in case of data recovery failure.
5). Format this drive to see whether it is fixable.
