I try to download a movie and it continually tells me that I need to download light scribe or something and I already have it and I can't get the movies
Seems like you're having weird issues. Best thing to do now is probably contacting netflix directly. As for silverlight (I can only assume that's what you meant), switching to a different browser might get that solved for you. My favorite is Chrome, but Firefox, Opera and even the newer versions of Internet Explorer seem to do OK with most of what's on the web.
The following information is for Windows based PCs: Your problem may depend on the version of Windows you are using. If you are running one of the newer versions--such as Windows 7, and changing browsers doesn't help, then try going to "Control Panel", click on "Programs and Features or for older versions, Add-Remove Programs" and then uninstall Microsft Silverlight. Log back into Netflix and try reinstalling, First, no matter which version of Windows you are using, TURN OFF ANY ANTI-VIRUS PROGRAMS, they can interfere with installing any kind of software, and it's a common error. Follow any instructions for installation, including closing all of your browser windows if that is what they call for. Not doing so can interfere with installation. Also make sure that you "allow" the installation (security settings may require manual permission). If you are using an older unsupported version of Windows, you may need to uninstall and manually reinstall an earlier version of Microsoft Silverlight: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=149156&v=3.0.50106.0. See if that works. Normally installation will automatically tell your firewall to allow communication with the program, but you may have to set permissions on the firewall--either or both for any Anti-virus programs or the Windows Firewall To see if it is the Windows Firewall, go to Control Panel, click "Windows Firewall" first try shutting off the firewall and see if that solves the problem, if it does then you need to set permissions to allow that program 2-way communication by clicking on "Allow program or feature through firewall". The directions are pretty much self-explanatory and may vary with your installation. Anti-virus programs also have firewalls, but the instructions allowing Microsoft Silverlight permission internet access will vary depending on which program you are using. Follow the directions for your specific program. There are a lot of other potential fixes, but these two are the most basic and the first you should try. Hope these work for you. If you've tried changing browsers and it works on one but not the other, then google netflix combined with the name of the browser that is malfunctioning--you should be able to find instructions specific to the browser.
