hi

i assume you are near the router ? if so, make sure the router is sitting up on a desk and not on the floor : keep close distance and ensure the antenna(s) are up . If the signal strength is normal (coming from the router), try resetting the router by unplugging power and wait 1 minute before plugging back in. Make sure the router has appropriate signal strength by checking the ethernet cables (make sure there are no cuts or bad bends or severed connections. try changing all cables. if the router has one antenna, you may have to get one with antennas to allow boosted signal. make sure the pass phrase is correct with upper or lower case alphanumeric code.

sound like your Language / Regional settings. Sometimes the settings get changed, for whatever reason. Check Language and regional setting under control panel. Make sure under regional options and advanced tab are set to English (United States). If this does not help you should seek a repair shop that can check and replace the keyboard for you.

If this helps please rate my solution.

It is very easy to change to XP windows.

Note: exchanging the unit for bogus reasons
(saying it crashes, when it doesn't) is bad
for your karma! Try the exchange in an honest
manner.

1. Read the instructions for converting to XP, in your manual or go to the ASUS website for instructiions.

2. The required windows drivers are on one
of the support discs that came with the eeepc.
(why would they include these, if the unit wasn't
meant to be converted to win XP?)

3. Or download the drivers from the ASUS website.

4. You must supply your copy of windows XP for this.

5. for easy step-by-step directions go to eeeuser.com

6. prepare to spend about 4-6 hours on this - not quick.
