My acer laptop is stuck in safe mode. How do I get it out?

Hi, you can resume normal operation by turning the computer off and then back on, and when it is booting up press F8 to bring up the Windows options. Choose the option for normal Windows loading, and you will load up out of safe mode.

Window resume loader

There is a known corruption problem with Windows Vista's resume operation, but I've not yet confronted it on a laptop. On a desktop the problem occurs when a USB keyboard is in use, and the resolution is to unplug it and make sure that you're using a standard PS/2 keyboard instead, but I am not sure if this will work on a notepad. It depends if the notepad scans for an external keypad at boot time. Try plugging in an external keyboard before you turn the power on and see if that works.

If it doesn't work, I'm not sure what to suggest. People who have had this problem appear to have tried everything from resetting the BIOS to reformatting the hard drive. If you try it and report failure I'll investigate the matter further.
