I don't know what you are referring to when you say STANDBY option, so I'll include what I know about the password option. Maybe you mean SECURITY TIMEOUT, or maybe your version calls it standby time..

Setting up a password for the device:
Scroll to select the SETTINGS/OPTIONS icon and press [Trackwheel] to select.
Scroll to select SECURITY OPTIONS and press [Trackwheel] to select.
Scroll to select GENERAL SETTINGS before getting the next menu.
Scroll to select the PASSWORD It should say ENABLED.
For most people the security timeout is set to 1 HOUR.

Setting up the time it takes for the BB to require a password:
Select the line you need to change, and Press [Trackwheel] to access the Menu
CHANGE OPTION should be highlighted Press [Trackwheel] to select.
Scroll UP to select ENABLED and press [Trackwheel] to select.
Scroll to select the SAVE and press [Trackwheel] to select.
System responds with NEW PASSWORD: input your new password press the <-| key.
System will ask you to re-enter your NEW PASSWORD: input your new password again and press <-| key.

Enter any password until you fail 10 times, it will make your blackberry storm 9500 unlocked from old password and erase your previous data. There is no option to unlock blackberry password without loosing the data, that's feature of RIM security system. So good luck!

INTERNET SETTING I WANT TO USE THE OPERA MINI FOR FREE INTERNET ACCESS

  • Plug your Blackberry up to the computer with the usb cable and open the Desktop Manager application.
  • 2 Open your internet browser on your computer (Internet Explorer, Firefox, ETC.) and go to: http://www.opera.com/mini/download/blackberry/. Select your Blackberry model from the list of models. If you don't know your model then on your Blackberry go to Options --> About. Your model will be list as "Blackberry ****". Once you've selected your model just choose your language and click on the link to the download the file: "opera-mini-advanced-us.zip". After downloading Opera Mini unzip the file with Winzip and install on your phone with the application loader in the Blackberry Desktop Manager. If you don't know how to install programs with the application loader check the resources at the bottom of this article.
  • 3 Once installing Opera Mini on your Blackberry you have to configure your TCP settings to connect to the internet. Included in the resources is a link to a web site that lists the APN and user names and passwords needed. Everything is sorted by service providers (Alltell, Att, etc). Locate your service provider and, on your Blackberry, go to Options --> Advanced Options --> TCP. Input the APN, user name, and password and save your changes.
  • 4 Remove the battery from your Blackberry and put it back in to reset your phone. Once your phone turned back on open Opera Mini and go through the steps of automation configuration. Be sure to select "yes" when the warning comes up "this application is try to access......".
  • 5 Open the menu by pressing the application button (the Blackberry symbol) and click on "go to" and type in a web address. If the web page loads the congratulations, you now have the internet; if not then repeat the process. If, after repeating the process, you still cant get on the internet then leave me a message and I'll be more than happy to assist you. GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN

Hello someone has put a password on my blackberry and now i carnt use it as i dont the the password. is there any way i can remove it/

    do the following:

Type in the incorrect password. The BlackBerry will tell you how many more tries you have to enter the wrong password before it resets (you usually have between three and ten tries total.) Continue entering the wrong password. You may be prompted to enter the word "blackberry" a few times to continue--this is to make sure that you (or a child ) aren't accidentally and unknowingly typing in the wrong password.

Allow the device to reset itself and shut down. Try to restart the BlackBerry. If nothing loads, the application software was removed as well and you should proceed to the next step. If you see your normal screen, proceed to the last step below.

Connect the device to your computer via your USB cord (this comes with your phone) and load the Blackberry Desktop Manager software (if you don't have it download it at na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop).

Click "Application Loader" then "Add/Remove Applications." Select "BlackBerry System Software" (along with any other applications you want to download to your phone) and then "Next." Verify the list of applications you want to download on the next screen and click "Finish." Allow the Blackberry software to reinstall.

Enter a new password under "Options" then "Password" (or the similar choice) on your BlackBerry.

  • Step 3 Allow the device to reset itself and shut down. Try to restart the BlackBerry. If nothing loads, the application software was removed as well and you should proceed to the next step. If you see your normal screen, proceed to the last step below.
  • Step 4 Connect the device to your computer via your USB cord (this comes with your phone) and load the Blackberry Desktop Manager software (if you don't have it download it at na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop).
  • Step 5 Click "Application Loader" then "Add/Remove Applications." Select "BlackBerry System Software" (along with any other applications you want to download to your phone) and then "Next." Verify the list of applications you want to download on the next screen and click "Finish." Allow the Blackberry software to reinstall.
  • Step 6 Enter a new password under "Options" then "Password" (or the similar choice) on your BlackBerry.

My blackberry when calling it go call is not allowed, please I want the factory reset password, since I don't have the catalog

For BlackBerries, all you can do is either soft reset it or to completely wipe the phone. Here's what you need to do:

    1. Remove the battery from the back of it while the phone is turned ON.
    2. Leave the battery out for 5 minutes and put it back it.

This is how to soft reset the phone. But if you would like to completely wipe it, you need to back up the files first using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager before wiping it. Because wiping the phone will completely erase everything.

    Here's how:

    1. Go to Options > Security > General Settings...
    2. press the BlackBerry button and there's an option to wipe it.

Good luck and have a great day!

Note : If you type your BlackBerry® device password incorrectly , you might be prompted to type blackberry before you can continue.

you need to remove IT policy , here is the working solution how to remove IT policy tested by me many times

Go to your Options : Security >> Security Options (the same page where you can enable/disable passwords) & scroll to the bottom. If there's an IT policy attached, it will be mentioned there. Remove the IT policy using these instructions

    Procedure
Step 1 : Ensure the Blackberry Desktop Manager is installed using Blackberry Internet Service, and not Blackberry Enterprise Server. If you are unsure, it would probably be a good idea to uninstall the Desktop Manager and start again. If you don't have the CD that came with your Blackberry, the Software can be downloaded here.

Step 2 : Download the file policy.bin and save it in your Blackberry installation directory (C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry).

Step 3 : Wipe your Blackberry, creating a backup if necessary. Select Options/Security/Wipe on the Device. If this option is unavailable, you may have to install the latest software on your Blackberry. You need to Download and install the latest OS for your device. Connect your device, open the Desktop Manager, select Application Loader, and follow the prompts.

Step 4 : Close the Desktop Manager if it is open.

Step 5 : From the Windows XP Start Menu select Run..., and at the prompt type regedit. In the tree on the left hand side, navigate to:

    HKEY_Current_Users\Software\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\PolicyManager

Right-Click the Policy Manager Folder and select New/String Value. Name the value Path. Now, Double-Click the Path Subkey and set Value Data to:

    C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\policy.bin

Step 6 : Open the Desktop Manager.

Step 7 : Connect the Device. Verification Once complete, the Options/Security screen on your Blackberry should not contain references to an IT Policy, you should now be able to change all settings (including password prompts), and install Third Party Applications.

I need to remove yahoo mail from my blackberry

    Hi,

The smart thing to do before you return the phone is to do a wipe handheld. You can find the wipe handheld option if you go to your menu -> options -> security options -> general settings. Here you can press the blackberry key and choos wipe handheld. When you do a wipe handheld all data on the phone is erased and the phone is ready for the new user. Make sure that you choose delete 3rd party applications also.

    best regards

How to unlock my blackberry curve free!

take out your sim card and or media card and enter the password wrong. It usually has about 10 tries. After the final time, it clears any personal data on the phone for security reasons(thats why you take out your cards) Then when it is done reloading, you can change your password...make it something easy. Then go into your security options and disable the security lock. Then you can put your cards back in. Good luck.
