Question about HP Pavilion dv8000t Notebook
On my HP Pavilion dv8000, the left click button on my pad does not work at all. I have to use the left one but it does get the job doe all the time. I can use the pad to position the cursor but only use the right key to click then scroll on the menu to either back the page or open a file. I even tried to change the mouse options by making the right click the primary on but unsuccessful. The right click does not allow that function.
You can "tap" on touchpad as you do with left click,
otherwise it needs new touchpad assembly.

Click Start/Control Panel and
look for the Mouse and open it to check the mouse properties. Make sure
you don't have the touchpad disabled.
Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad on or off by clicking on the button that is located at the top of the touch pad in the middle.
Some models will allow you to toggle the touchpad by tapping twice in the upper left hand corner of the touchpad.
Some models will require a keystroke to toggle the touchpad. Press and Hold the ALT or FN function key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard, then hit the key that toggles the touchpad. The correct key to hit will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square that represents the touchpad.
Download and reinstall the touch pad drivers.
Get online and got to
www.google.com In the google search box type: "HP Support"
(without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look
for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when
requested. Download and install the Touchpad drivers.
