You can always put higher than 1000 but it won't make much difference if your amp is only 1000 watts then it will only put out MAX 1000 watts.

What size amp do i need to run 4 1000 watt pyle 10's bridged

well first of all you cant bridge subs... you can bridge an amp... and for 2 they are probablly not 1000 watts, make sure you understand RMS and what the sub can ACTUALLY HANDLE properly... i would get a 1000 to 1500 watt RMS that is RMS RMS RMS RMS amp not one that says 2000 watts MAX POWER cuz thats cheap ****... get a kicker JL hifonic alpine or something in that category that actually tells you the TRUE power output of the amp... then run those 4 subs in a parallel circuit so its like really only having 2 subs. make sure then these subs do not run less then 2 ohms at the terminals while in a parallel, then bridge these subs acting as 2 subs not 4 to your TRUE 1000 watt amp and you should have a good powerful system

I wonder if i get two kicker cvx 10 can be push by jl audio 500.1

It can but it'd be a waste for your subs. 1 of those by itself will handle that amp. it'll push them just not really hard, i'd recommend an upgrade to a 1100-1200 watt rms amp if you're gonna run 2 cvx's. if you only run one sub that amp'll work well...

Hi i have two 10'' jenson xs sub and they are about 6 years old and i was wondering wut amp size i should buy to run them.

I believe these are 4ohms, if so buy a 2ohm stable monoblock amp, that puts out 250-300 watts RMS, and connect your subs to it in parallel, don't pay attention to peak watts, look at RMS watts, or continuous watts. If they're 2 ohms, buy a 2 ohm stable 2 channel amp that puts out 125-150 watts RMS per channel, and 250-300 watts total or bridged RMS output. And connect them normally, on sub per channel... hope this helps, as far as brand recommendations, MTX, pioneer, Alpine, Kenwood... Good luck

I just need to know the best way to hook my amp and subs together. i like a lot of bass. i just bought the subs and yhey dont really sound any diffrent. should i get a new amp.

Hello hembreegerry,

If you like a lot of bass, you definitely need to consider another amp. The SP2X-300 is only rated at 170 watts RMS into 4 ohms mono. That would barely be enough to power one small sub. You do not specify what brand and model your subs are, their impedance, or their power handling capacity. But for any subs, your best power solution is to add together the individual RMS power handling capacity and select a monoblock amp that provides close to the maximum at the impedance they will be wired to present. For example, if your subs are 4 ohms and have a maximum RMS of 250 watts, you would want an amp that outputs abour 500 watts into 2 ohms (2 4 ohm subs wired in parallel = 2 ohm load). An ideal amp in that example would be the Alpine MRP-M500 which outputs 500 watts RMS into 2 ohms.

Hope this helps.

Zx-8400 amp too much for zx-4812?

The amp and sub combo should work fine the subs can really take a crapload of power-i have a neighbor thats running 1200 watts rms to each sub in his caddy and OMG- its sick. Your amp should be pushing around 800 watts rms(continous) to the sub which should do very well-my concern with your setup is that the sub is designed for a vented box- you can use any box u want but im just suggesting that you use a good solid vented box with these subs- my other concern with your setup is that having only the single sub if its a dual coil 4ohm + 4ohm coils then you might run into trouble if you dont have it set up right-by that meaning to get all the power handling capability of the sub you would want to use both of the coils right? well to do that you have to either wire the coils in series or wire the coils in parallel right? In series the coils will yield an 8 ohm load to the amp and youll only get about 400 watts from the amp bridged into that 8 ohm load- on the other side of that if you wire the coils in parallel then the cols yield a 2 ohm load and that could cause the amplifier to become unstable and fry its little guts. All of this is assuming that the amp is made to run bridged at 4 ohms- if it is 2 ohm stable in bridged mode than you have nothing to worry about. Now the popping noise- that sounds like its coming from the amp somehow and just feeding through to the sub-like you ive never heard a sub popping unless its bottoming out and you say its not so its gotta be the amp id say-if it were me id check all power connections especially the ground for the amp . It could be that on the heavy bass notes that your amp is not getting enough juice -throw a 3.5 farad capacitor on the power line and see if that helps your system out-

Yes i was wondering what would be the best way to wire my system. i have to kicker L5 4 ohm 10in subs and one kicker 1000 watt mano amp. what wolud be the way to get the best bass out as possible.

Hello eaglepower_2,

Well, to get the maximum power from the amp, you really need a 2ω load. Unfortunately, you cannot get that from 2 L5's with 4ω voice coils. You can get either 1ω which will burn your amp up, or you can get 4ω, and your amp will put about 500 watts RMS into that load.

To get the most from your amp, you really needed the L5's with 2ω voice coils. That way, you could run the voice coils in series and the subs in parallel, resulting in a 2ω load, exactly what your amp likes. If you can exchange them for the 2ω model, I would.

Here's the link to Kicker's manual for the ZX-1000.

2006 12" Kicker L7 4 ohm

first whats the range in terms of WATTS that your 12" sub can handle in 4 OHMS ? second , lets check the AMP , POWER ACOUSTIK 1800 WATTS , Now thats a lot of power to drive a single 12" sub speaker . your amp is 1800 watts , per channel is around 500 watts , if BRIDGE thats around 1600 watts rms for ONE channel , if your sub can handle that kind of wattage fine , but it will not blow the amp , what it does is shuts down , some kind of protection mode , it will come back on after a minute or so. I suggest to use one channel in stereo mode , or purchase another sub to use the other channel. i hope this helps AJ

Alpine amp and subs questions

it will depend on how you use the 2 alpine subs,, do you know what there individual impedance is [ ohms ] and how you intend on wiring them,,,in series, in parallel, in any case you must maintain the min load in order to load the amplifier properly,,,otherwise the amplifier will operate improperly and allow DC [ direct current ] to pass and fry your subs...so what I really need is more in formation
