I have a WFT-8501TP (LG). Had the error code PE as well. I used the method found on here, remove, blow. It worked but it also came back on after a few cycle. I called LG Canada (am in Vancouver BC). LG Canada said they didn't even know such a product (parts) code existed.
I ordered one on Amazon.Com, came to 18.97 Canadian dollars.
6501EA1001R
I believe mined was a 1001B, this is the part the LG Canada said it didn't know about or didn't have.
Those that had it, well, it was an arm and a leg, if you get my drift.
I did more research, realize the 1001R looked identical to mine, and same voltage, and it came off an almost identical looking machine, also made by LG, but of newer vintage.
I installed. It is working flawless. No more PE error code. Hopes this helps.

the PE error code is a power error code normally happens when there is a power failure you can turn the washer off then back on (not unplugging it) and this will clear the error code however if it happens with out any other reason then there maybe a power problem inside the diagnostic computer in the washing machine

How can I fix my washer
To fix this:
  1. Press POWER, and turn the machine OFF.
  2. Unplug the machine.
  3. With the power being disabled, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds.
  4. Plug the washer back in.
  5. Power the unit back ON.
  6. Press-in on the door firmly.
  7. Select any cycle, and press START/PAUSE.
