Look under the freezer bottom drawer for ice.
If ice is there your defrost drain line is frozen closed.
It is located on the back wall of the freezer down low.
Turn off the fridge. Use a hair dryer to melt the ice at the drain hole.
The ice under the drawer can be broken with a hammer and removed.

HAVE A GE REFRIGERATOR TYPE TFX25CR THAT LEAKES WATER FROM TIME TO TIME, ABOUT 5 OZ

The evaperator for the drip under the bottom of the unit is probably dirty or has gone bad. Pull the fridge out and look under the bottom and you should see a pan with a coil above it. Clean the coil and the pan. If this does not correct the problem, then a new coil is in order. Also vacuum the back of the fridg if it has exposed coils to increase efficiency.

Water on floor

Check your drain hose that leads to evaporator pan. The hose should be in the pan. If it is in pan, then check to see if all door gaskets are tight and no leaks or gaps. This likely is the problem assuming you don't have a leak in the water line leading to ice maker. Try these things first and then we wll move to the next possible solutions.

Sometimes I see water under it. And the pan is always dry. Is there a clog somewhere in the line?

Hello,
The water is from the melted frost of the defrost cycle. The drain at the bottom of the back wall of the freezer is blocked so instead of the water draining into the pan where it will evaperate,it's pooling on the freezer floor and freezing, in many case when the floor indent is full the water will leak onto the floor.By pulling the refrigerator out from the wall, there will be a tube behind the service panel on the right side when looking at it from the rear, that tube can be removed and cleared, then clear the nozzle it connects to inside the freezer.

I hope this helps you to stop the leak,
Gene

Hello Terri,
The pan there is for the defrost water that drains into it durning the defrost cycle, that water eveperates automatically so this water too will evaperate as well may take a bit longer since its more but it will evaperate. Also as you know there is no way to remove that pan,but tomorrow it will be empty anyway

Where is the drip pan on this refrigerator? do I have to empty itor does the coils evaperate it?

it's behind the bottom kick plate, some machines don't have one,the water drips on the floor near the compressor and no you don't do anything with the pan,if you're having a water problem you could have a clogged drain line,it's in the freezer, when the machine goes into defrost the ice melts and goes down the drain line to the drip pan,if that's clogged water will leak out and you'll see ice on the floor of the freezer, also a water line could be cracked and leaking but the water in the pan evaporates on it's own

Getting water on floor water line is not leaking

First check the inside of the freezer at the bottom and see if you have a block of ice on the freezer floor.... if you do then your defrost drain is cloged.... use warm water to dethaw

if you do not see the drain hole then it is behing the back wall where you see the vent .... in side the freezer. use some warm water.... This will take a while and will be wet ... get a couple of BIG towls and keep the warm water comming untill the water drains....

Not : once it drains stop pouring water in it .... It only hold 1 or 2 cups in the pan under the machine.

if this is not your problem then you most likely have a water line leaking or a water valve leaking under the machine.

My model number 2811 has ice build up on the right hand side of the freezer. the service manuals indicate i need to pull the "cal rod heater down to make contact with the evaporator assembly and silicone...

Diagrams here : http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Sub-zero-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-2811/3054/0161000?searchedModel=2811&blt=05

These are the best I can Do with the Diagrams but I can explane what is going on, and possible soloutions.

Your defrost drain is mostlikeley frozen. This is located on the right hand side, just inside the metal cover. When you remove the meteal cover (((evaperator cover or water pan))) you will see the hole on the right.

Since this is cloged then the water stays in the cover or pan and freezes after the defost cycle.

after you remove the cover you will see the evaperator (( aluminum tubing with fins))) and the heater ((( Black Rod )))

When your machine gose into defrost about every 8 hrs, this heater melts the ice off the evaperator((( Hence Frost Free ))) and the water goest into the (((( evaperator cover or pan ))) and flows to the defrost drain hole to a pan under the machine.

They make a after market heater for the drain... it is a pain to install.

First I would try to defrost the drain by poring war water down it and verifying it goes into the pan at the bottome of the machine.

When your done you will need to silicone around the (((cover / pan))) where it covers the defrost drain hole.

Good Luck

GE TCS18PADBLBS Freezer

if the drain line is frozen or clogged then you have to remove the back freezer panel and with a hair dryer at the bttom of the evaperator coil thaw the ice that is built up in the evaperator pan ouce you have it thawed you can pour water into the evaperator pan and it will run into the drainpan if you pour water into the pan and it does not run into the pan keep thawing
