You are likely using too much detergent or the detergent is not high-efficiency detergent. Change detergents and/or lower amount and this problem should go away.

The water port on the back allows air inside the tub to escape. However, if the wrong type or quantity of detergent are used, excess suds will flow from this port.

Lg tromm washer what does IE stand for?wash machine stops running and IE appears

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

LG's 'IE' stands for (water) 'Inlet Error'.

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck,
John C

I have IFB Elena washing machine. My problem is that water is coming out of soap inlet dish. Also after the cycle is complete drum is filled with water.

Water in the soap tray can be due to fault program, excess water level or inlet leak.Water collecting as the drain fails to work is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged. Now remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain pump/valve, clean the drain pump/valve, use back flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

Replacing the pump on a Bosch machine, please check this link for tips:

Cabrio WTW7600 model, error code LF comes, checked water pressure and it is ok. Help

This LF error code indicates that there is a water supply problem. Are both the hot and cold water faucets turned on? Turn on the water. Check the household faucets to see if the hot and cold water faucets are turned on. Completely open both faucets for proper fill.

NOTE: Both hot and cold water must be connected to the washer and turned on. The washer will not properly operate with only one incoming source of water.

Are the water inlet hoses kinked? Straighten the water inlet hoses.

Are the water inlet valve screens on the washer clogged? Turn off the water and remove inlet hoses from the inlet valves in the back of the washer. Inside the inlet valves are screens. Remove any accumulated film or particles from the screens. Reinstall hoses, turn on water, and check for leaks. See the Installation Instructions for details.

zjlimited_1506.jpg

Is the water pressure less than 10 psi?
If the water pressure is too low, the washer may not properly operate. To find out your exact pounds-per-square-inch (psi) value, contact your local water utility company.

Is the drain hose extending more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe?
The drain hose may be too far inside the drainpipe (standpipe) or laundry tub. Drained water can siphon back into the washer if the drain hose extends too far. Make sure the drain hose does not extend more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub. Using the U-shaped drain hose form as described in the Installation Instructions will provide the appropriate length of drain hose in the drainpipe or laundry tub.

Is the drain hose taped onto the drainpipe? Is the top of the drainpipe covered with tape?
Do not seal the drain hose into the drainpipe with tape. The drain hose should be loose, yet secure. There must be a gap between the drain hose and the drainpipe to allow air to flow. The air gap will break the suction. This will keep water from being continuously sucked out of the machine (siphoning) as it fills.

Is the drainpipe (standpipe) less than the minimum height of 39" (99 cm)?
Make sure the top of the drain is at least 39" (99 cm) high (as measured from the floor). If the drain is below 39" (99 cm), the water will start to flow out of the machine due to gravity. The flow of water can create suction, (siphon) and the water will continue to drain out of the washer.

To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel once.

If Pause/Cancel does not work:
  1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
  2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
  3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.
NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and all of the other questions above have been checked, call for service.

Hope this helps (remember to rate this answer).

The electronic cold water inlet valves at the top of the machine are leaking. My manual does not list the part and i need to replace it. I dont know the correct part name or number

Water Inlet Valve Replacement Procedure
Cold water inlet valve assembly: Part # 5221ER1003A
Hot water inlet valve: Part # 5220FR2006H
  1. Safety first. Unplug the machine.
  2. Close the water supply valve.
  3. Remove the cold water fill hose and drain the residual water into a pan or bucket.
  4. Remove the two screws on the back of the top panel securing it to the cabinet.
  5. Slide the top panel to the back of the machine and lift it off the cabinet.
  6. Disconnect the wiring harness connectors from the valves. Mark the connectors to make sure you reconnect them to the right valve.

Leaks water out of bottom

hi friend,
1washingmachine2_thumb.jpg
Evidently you have reason to believe your washer is leaking. Probably there is water on the floor near the machine. Fine, then the first thing is some detective work. with an absorbent hand towel begin to inspect the areas where water enter or leave the washer. Those places are: 1. the hot and cold water inlet hoses located in the back and top of the machine and 2. the washer drain line, located in the back and bottom of the machine.
  • Step 2 One at a time, dry both ends of the hot and cold water hoses. watch for water to bead up. Water may be leaking from more than one place so don't stop with the first leak you find. Inspect all four possible connections and the hose itself. If there is a leak at a hose connection it's an easy fix. shut off the water supply of the leaking hose, unscrew the hose where it leaks and wrap Teflon tape clockwise around the threaded or male part of the connection. inspect the flat rubber washer in the female part of the connection. replace if it seems very worn. re-tighten the connection, dry and turn the water back on. check for the leak to return. If the leak in somewhere on the hose itself you will need to buy a new hose. Hot and cold water hoses are marked.
  • Step 3washingmachine3_thumb.jpg Next we need to check the hose where water drains from the washer. It comes from the washer near the floor level and usually inserts a male into the female of the washer hole. It then moves to the drain leaving the house. Again, dry the entire hose. Then you will have to run the washer. Use flashlight and inspection mirror to help you look for a leak during the draining process. If it leaks at the connection to the washer try reinserting and tightening the retaining screws. There usually are no threads to wrap. If that doesn't fix the leak or if you find a leak in the hose itself you will need to replace it.
  • Step 4 If you still have a leak under the washer it is probably in the drain hose between the drain pump and the outside hose or the short hose between the tub and the drain pump. This may be getting out of your level of competence. But if you want to be a Renaissance Man, give it a try.
Unplug the machine. Now you need access to the bottom of the machine. depending on your brand you may be able to 1)remove the front by inserting a painters scraper and prying the spring snaps up, 2)remove the back by taking out screws and the rear plate or 3)you may have to go in through the bottom. With help tip it over on it's side. of course the machine will need to be empty of clothes and water as it's heavy enough already.
  • Step 5 However you access the inside bottom of the machine you will see a rubber hose coming down from the tub to a small electric drain pump then a plastic line will leave the pump and go to the back of the machine where it will meet up with the drain line you inspected in step 2. With your inspection mirror and flashlight look for water to indicate a leak. These lines are often held on by metal springs and can be moved or adjusted with open jaw pliers. If you find one of these hoses damaged take it off and bring it with you to your appliance store for a replacement.
  • jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); }); Tips & Warnings
    • take digital photos before you remove any part. if you get confused you can use it as reference
    • don't work on the inside of the washer with it plugged in.
    hope this helps u

    thank u for using fixya

Washer leaks out of the bottom. checked drain hose it is not plugged, checked hot and cold water hoses they're ok.

REMOVE THE TOP OF WASHER AND CHECK THE WATER INLET VALVE. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING AND FINALLY DISMANTLED THE WASHER UNTIL I FOUND THE HOT WATER INLET VALVE WAS LEAKING FROM THE TOP AND DRIPPING DOWN THE TUB AND ENDING UP ON MY FLOOR. IT WILL DRIP EVEN WHEN THE WASHER IS NOT ON DUE TO THE PRESSURE BUILT UP ON THE VALVE.

Water is running out inside bottom of mechine

If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:
    1. Air gap device: It is a small device found on most washers to prevent the wash water from from being siphoned into the household water supply. It is located either midway along or at the the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water inlet valve It is usually made of a translucent plastic. If it is deformed or cracked, you need to replace it.
    2. The tube: It is a rubber tube that runs between the water inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it is broken, it can cause a leak.
    3. Inlet spout: Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If broken or loose, it can cause a leak.
During the drain and spin only:
    1. A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Check the entire hose and correct any problem you can find.
    All the time:
    1. Hot and cold water fill hoses: Check the hot and cold hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten or replace it.
    2. Main tub seal: It is located between the transmission and the outer tub. Open the the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center.
    3. Pump: You can probably see the leak when the tub is full of water. If it leaks, replace it.
    4. Outer tub: Steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split or be punctured. Consult a qualified appliance technician if it is the culprit.

CA message, leaking water on floor, won't drain

It leaks Your washer can develop several types of leaks. You can track down a leak based on when it occurs:

    During fill only
    During drain and spin only
    All the time
During fill only If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:

    • Air-gap device -The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it.

    • The tube -There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.

    • Inlet spout -Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.

During drain and spin only A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

All the time If the washer leaks all the time, check these:

    • Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.

    • Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.

    • Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it.

    • Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.
CA Cl Average current limit Or Instantaneous current limit If a status signal comes back from the motor controller that a current limit has been breached, the unit will return to standby mode and display either CA for average current limit trip or Cl for instantaneous current limit trip.
Average current trip occurs if there is a 2 second average of current draw greater than 5.55 amps at the motor windings.
Instantaneous current trip occurs if there is a spike of 26 amps instantly at the motor windings.
This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector, or motor controller. Over-loading the unit may cause this problem.

    LG WM2487 Leak Front Left

Not sure if this machine is similar to the WM2277, but here is the procedure for that - my leak was in the "baffels" hose that connects the drum to the drain pump:

    1. Drain the machine - pry the panel at the front left lower corner to get access to a stoppered tube. drain as much water from here as possible.
    2. Remove screw visible inside this area and remove the white molded plastic - also remove the screw behind that plastic.
    3. Open the washer door and remove the spring loaded wire around the door gasket. Carefully pull the door gasket away from the panel push inside and then reclose the door.
    4. Remove the detergent drawer and the two screws visible behind it.
    5. Pull the top of the electronics panel away from the machine and lift up - place on top of machine or hook it out of the way
6 Remove the 4 screws that are visible holding the front panel to the machine. Left the entire front panel up about 2 inches and swing to the right (there is a wire connecting the door to the machine on the right)
