I recently bought a PS2 and a 8mb memory card for my kids. I don't know anything about either of these items but the memory card was saving information for about 4 days, then today it stated that it could not save any information because it may be corrupt. Why would this happen? We are playing Sonic Heros and SpongeBob Lights, Camara, Pants. Could the games destroy the card? HELP!

It's possible I suppose. I don't recall if I've used any of my 3rd party cards
on my PS2 before, but I've also never had a problem with either one on the PS1.
(both 15 block cards, one Naki, one InterAct) It's always good to have at
least 1 Sony brand card anyway. And they're under $10 now, so if you got one
used, it'd probably only set you back about $5.

Could it be that it is a Mad Catz PS1 memory card? I've never had a problem
with third party stuff before but maybe ill have to shell out the cash for a
used sony brand card .

Well first off, PS1 games cannot save onto PS2 memory cards. (you can store
PS1 saves on PS2 cards in a sort of zipped state though) So that's why that
doesn't work. As far as your PS1 card not working, does it work on other
games? Maybe someone else can suggest something. I haven't heard of this
being a game incompatible with the PS2 running PS1 emulation in standard mode
though.
