conserve_1333, I thank you for your post. Pulling the DVD drive out of this laptop has enabled my Inspiron 2200 to boot again. Now I will need to decide if it is the DVD ROM or Motherboard that is the issue.

My Laptop Inspiron 2200 With Windows XP only boot with the C drive when I remove the CD-DVD-CD drive. Otherwise ,I am asked to go to Bios to reconfigure the booting order.
The CD-dvd can not be pick-up by Plug and Play .

As a result I can only use the Laptop without the CD-DVD

When I reconnect the DVD it will not boot.

I have inspected every single pin in the DVD and from the Motherboard I can not see any damages

What do you think is the problem?

Most likely a HDD failure. Take the HDD out, see if you can boot to a XP CD or resource CD. If you can, then replace the HDD

Most commonly it's the white thermal fuse in the back of the dryer, but it could be any number of things including a door switch, burned wire, bad motor, bad timer, etc. Try the thermal fuse first. It's easiest and cheapest.

Either both bake and broil elements are burnt out (highly unlikely) or your control / clock may be bad. Also check to be sure you have 220v going to unit.

Sony pc wont start up the screen but u could hear the fan blowing loudly

There are usually 2 or 3 voltages available from a power supply, and the fan is usually driven by 12 volts. The CPU operates at lower voltages, so that means that one of the power supply voltages could be bad or low. First thing, and easiest thing to try is to swap out the power supply with a good one to see if that fixes things. If that doesn't fix it, make sure you have a good cmos battery (they usually measure 3 volts). The power supply is the most likely component to go bad, but, of course, other things can go bad. Good luck, hope it's just the power supply- they're about the cheapest thing you can try

I have ATC-1411B motherboard of AM486DX4 S 100 processor, I want the manual of this motherboard to check the jampers setting, because my problem is, after the motherboard works some minutes (approximatly...

What kind of problem are you having after 10-12 minutes. Be more specific please so I may help.
It wont be a jumper that needs to be set. Jumpers dont all of the sudden get moved by themselves. If your system started getting errors out of the blue then, considering the age of your motherboard, the easiest and cheapest thing to do first is change the battery on the motherboard that helps your CMOS keep the bios settings. If you are getting errors because of bios settings changing it may be as simple as changing the battery.   With a motherboard that old you may want to first try the most easiest repair first.

Compaq Persario SR2013WM starts booting, then quits fan on high

Seems like a motherboard or memory issue. Try removing the memory and re-seating it. If that doesn't work then try replacing the memory as it is the easiest and cheapest.

According to the log file, there was a spindle servo failure. The spindle servo is responsible for maintaining rotational speed accuracy. I'd say your drive is pretty much dead. See if you can read a disk in the drive. I wouldn't be surprised if it had a tough time just reading files.

My computer comes on but my screen is blank

Hi tytiyana..
i am giving my sugggestions.

Remedies. The remedies below should be performed in order. NOTE:Turn off the computer after each step. Never work inside the computer case with the power turned on.
1. Check and make sure all cables are firmly attached to the back of the computer and to all external devices. Retry.
2. Remove the case cover from the computer. Make sure all cables (hard drive, power cables, other disk cables) inside the computer are firmly attached.
Press down on all ISA and PCI cards and make sure they are firmly seated. Make sure your DRAM memory cards are firmly seated. Feel the top of the CPU and make sure it is not hot (warm is OK). Retry.
3. This step is only for newly built computers that have not successfully booted. Get out your motherboard manual, or download one from the manufacturer's site, and go over all your motherboard jumper settings.
Set the jumpers in the most conservative position. Review all your accessory wire connections (keyboard lock, hard drive access light, etc.) and make sure the connectors to the motherboard are facing the same direction. Retry.
4. Turn the computer back on with the case off. Verify that your CPU and power supply fan are running. If either one is not running you have a problem. If the power supply fan is not running replace the power supply (make sure the power connectors are correctly attached to the motherboard). Make sure the CPU fan is connected to power on the motherboard. If it is correctly connected and still doesn't run, replace it. Retry.
5. Unplug your computer. Remove all PCI and ISA cards. Reinstall the video card and disconnect the hard drive cable. Plug in the keyboard, video cable, and power cable. Restart your computer. If this worked, go to Step 6. If your DOS screen doesn't come up at this point try the following ideas.

a. Closely examine your motherboard and make sure it is not making contact with the computer case, which will short it.
b. Your video card, video cable, or monitor may be malfunctioning. Borrow a video card, cable and monitor, retry.
c. Remove and reinstall your DRAM. If your computer can not find system memory it will not POST.
d. Remove the CPU and reinstall it.
e. Follow your motherboard manual's instructions for resetting your BIOS to its default configuration.
If your computer still will not boot into a DOS screen, seek professional help.
