Question about Kodak EasyShare M1033 Digital Camera

? necessary to format a new SDHC 8 gb card before using ?

I have just purchased a new Kodak Digital camera - model M1033. Do I need to format a SDHC 8g card before using? I see no reference in the on-line manual. Sure wish that this camera had a detailed manual in the box when purchased. I do not appreciate time it takes to go on-line to learn about this camera.

I own another Kodak Digital camera - model DX7630 and all cards always had to be formatted in the camera in order to use.

Please advise. Thanks, Priscilla

Yes. Cards should always be formatted in the camera before use and every time after you finish downloading the pictures.

Get an SD card. Your 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot it is electronically incompatible and will not work with your camera. You need to use an SD card, 2GB and smaller.

The C743 works with MMC and SD cards, not with SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible. You need to go with cards 2GB and smaller.

Yes, the Kodak Easyshare M1033 has a SD/SDHC compatible expansion slot so you can purchase and insert memory cards up to 32GB. You can purchase them almost anywhere like Best Buy, Target, etc.

The DX6490 works with MMC and SD cards. While an SDHC card will fit into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work. Some Kodak cameras can use SDHC cards, but the DX6490 is not one of them. You need to go with SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

The camera says I need to format my memory card and when I do so the screen reads Filesys errore00100, how can I fix this?

The card may be incompatible.

Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards.

SD and SDHC cards fit the same slots, but many cameras won't work with the SDHC (high capacity) cards. SDHC is not backwards compatible.

No. Can you get into the camera menu when you turn the camera on? If so, go to "format" by way of the menu rather than clicking on continue. Also, be sure the slide switch on the side of the card is in the unlocked position.

I have a kodak M1033 camara with a SD HC PNY optima 240 HD 16 GB and the camara says internal memory is full and is only 1/2 minute video in the camara please help

Hi!
Sonds like the camera hasn't switched to the memory card. Go to setup and set memory to Auto not Internal. If that doesn't help, it's possible that the camera doesn't support 16GB card, but it should give you a card error then, so check the memory settings first.

Same as yours

The Z740 supports only MultiMediaCards & SD Memory Cards. 4GB and larger SD cards are usually SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) types - and bear the SDHC mark on the label. These cards are not compatible with this camera. Use only MMC and SD cards. SD cards are 2 GB and under - although *some* 4 GB cards are marked as SD too; these cards may or may not work. If you purchase a 4 GB SD (not SDHC) card, make sure that it can be returned if it doesn't work reliably in your camera.
