Question about Compaq 6710b Notebook
i recently uninstall nero & since then my cd/dvd rom is missing. Can you provide me the latest driver for it?
In the device manager it shows error code of 39.
You might try to do a system restore (start menu -->all programs -->accessories-->system tools -->system restore) back to the time before you uninstalled nero. Once you do that, your cd/dvd drivers should be listed under device manager. Write down the driver before you remove the software, and then proceed to uninstall nero. Then search the manufacturer website for your laptop for the drivers. If you tell me the laptop model, I can provide a link. Hope this helps.

Tips for a great answer:
This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.
hope this helps
