What do you mean by "charging problems"? Is the jack not accepting power from the AC Adapter? Is the battery several years old? Dell Latitude D600 laptops are several years old. If it is still using the original battery, not holding a charge would point more toward a battery issue as rechargable batteries are not designed to last more than a certain number of charges.
