What package is it? Are you trying to install it via synaptic?
You need to provide more information first.

  • 1. Open terminal: alt+f2, type"gnome-terminal" without the quotes
    2. in it type this:
    sudo dpkg --configure -a
(it has two - signs at configure)
it will ask for Your password, so type it, wait for it to finish, and repeat the process You wanted to do.

  • Yes you can write your password, but it is not displayed on the screen to protect you from password theft by others, so just type your password and press enter, and everythink will be ok :)

I forget my product key of window vista

chech your original OS CD package for the product key, if you use an OEM version, check for a sticker label on your computer for the product key. else, try to use a program to recover the product key from your currently installed OS if it is still working.

Error 2350

THE PROBLEM The Windows Error 2350 occurs when the installed version of the Windows Installer is too old for the MSI to execute. The registration entry for the engine has been damaged and all attempts to execute the MSI installation packages will not be successful.Errors on your system may be caused by invalid registry entries and outdated or corrupt drivers.
THE SOLUTIONTo fix the registration entry for the Windows Installer, the Installer service should first be registered then unregistered using msiexec /unregister and msiexec /regserver (Type both command in run) or the command line switches. The user will then have to restart Windows.

When i tries to download anything system shows the following error- " error while unpacking the program code LP5. pls contact author"

I think this is an issue with improper download try using a download manager

Possible Reasons:

1. LP5 means the package is corrupted. This can happen mainly because of some bad download or obsolete package.

2. Obsolete Antivirus

3. Improper Download Software

4. Flash drive

5. Spyware

6. interference from other applications running on the computer

7. During installation of security sites

Possible Solutions:

1. Check For the version of Anti virus

2. Goto control panel /Add Remove Programs/

3. In the list of installed programs we can see the antivirus version.

4. If it is obsolete, uninstall it and reinstall it with the latest one

5. Check For any 3rd party tool that may interfere with the unpacking of software

6. If so un install it.

7. Run Restore disks (or built-in System Restore). It will reinstall the software automatically.

8. Instead of flash drive, use any download manager

Error i get when installing a certain program

Copy the entire program to a folder on the hard drive and try to launch it from there. When you are doing your copy go into folder options and make sure you show all hidden files before copying to the hard drive. Then go to the folder you copied it to and launch the setup.

Error 1721

Try the following regardless of the software as this is the common error message provided by Microsoft. Of course this won't rule out either a corrupt installer or incompatibility's
  1. Disable/Configure any anti-spyware or anti-virus software on your system during installation process. For example: Spybot Search and Destroy Program or Norton Anti-Virus
  2. Check to see if any spyware or adware is installed on your system blocking the completion of install process.
  3. Check to see if you find any unwanted entry in Add/Remove Programs or Internet Explorer - Add/On's section (Tools - Internet Options - Programs -> Manage Add On's). If you found one, remove/disable this entry.
  4. On Windows Vista, disable UAC (User Access Control) feature for your account
